Google+ has special features, and for some it is a great alternative to Facebook. For others, however, it's just another social media site to maintain. Closing a Google+ account is relatively easy but there are a few things you need to know before doing so. This article will explain how to safely and quickly stop a Google+ account on a computer or mobile device.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Remove Google+ From Your Browser

1. 

   Sign in to Google+. If you aren't logged in, do it now with your username and password.

   Go to your account settings. Click your name or profile picture in the top right corner of the Google+ window. From the pop-up panel, click on "Account".

   Click on the Data tools at the top.

   In the Data tools box, click the Delete Google+ profile and features button.

   Carefully read the warnings that appear. If you delete your Google profile, you will delete Google+ and other services and their data related to Google profile.

   Completed. Click the "Required" checkbox to confirm that you have read the warning line, and are ready to go, then click "Remove selected services". It will delete your Google+ account or Google profile, whichever you chose. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: Delete Google+ from Mobile Devices

1. 

   Run the Google+ app. If it's not on the home screen, you can find it by swiping the panel to the right, and going to the Search panel. Type the word "Google+" into the search field, then click on the result.
   • Note: If you don't have the Google+ app, refer to Method One to delete your Google+ account, and use the mobile browser like the one on your computer.

   Tap the Menu button in the top left corner of the Google+ window. It will open the sidebar.

   Click Settings. It will open the Settings panel.

   Tap "Delete Google+ profile". If you are already logged in, it will open your browser to the page where you can complete the process as described in Method One.
   • If not, you'll be prompted to sign in to continue.

   Log in. Then, enter the link "plus.google.com/downgrade" into the URL section. It will take you to the Google+ account deletion page, where you can do an account exit as described in Method One. advertisement

Advice

• While you may not be able to recover your Google+ account data, your email is still there, you can create a new Google+ account at any time.

Warning

• There is no way to recover a deleted account. Make sure to back up any important things before proceeding.
• Unless that is your intention, be careful not to delete your Google account. While deleting your Google account means deleting Google+, it will also delete your Gmail login, and you won't be able to use it again in the future.
