This article shows you how to remove Bing search engine on Google Chrome browser by selecting it in the Settings section, or if that fails, you can reset all Chrome default settings.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Change Goolge Chrome Settings

1. 

   next Search engine used in the address bar (The search engine used on the address bar). This button is located in the "Search engine" section.

   Click on another Bing search engine.

   Click Manage search engines (Manage search engines). This button is located in the "Search engine" section.

4. 

   Click ⋮ to the right of Bing.

   Click Remove from list (Delete from list). Bing will no longer be Chrome's search engine.

   Return to the Settings page and scroll down to the "On startup" section.

   Click Open a specific page or set of pages (Opens a specific page or set of other pages). If a Bing address is listed in this section, do the following:
   • Click ⋮ to the right of the Bing link.
   • Click Remove (Erase). As such, Bing was removed from Chrome.

   Close the Settings tab. The tag shows up at the top of the page, just above Chrome's address bar. This will save your changes. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: Reset Chrome

1. 

   Open Google Chrome.

2. 

   Click ⋮ in the top right corner of the browser.

3. 

   Click Settings (Setting).

4. 

   Scroll down and click Advanced (Advanced) below the page.

5. 

   Scroll down and click Reset (Reset) is below the page.

6. 

   Click RESET (Set again). Read the contents of the dialog box carefully as this returns the browser settings to their original state.
   • If both of these methods are ineffective and Bing is still showing up on Chrome, your computer may be infected with the "Bing Redirect" virus and you need to take a few extra steps to remove the virus on your computer.
