Changing your email password regularly can help protect your account from hackers and other identity theft schemes. When changing your password, you should come up with a new password that is strong and different from the passwords of other online accounts, with at least 8 characters including letters, numbers and special characters. To make your password even more difficult to guess, don't set a password that contains personal information that you normally share with others, such as your date of birth, phone number, pet's or child's name.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Change Gmail password
Sign in to the Gmail website with your Gmail account. You can't change your Gmail password using the mobile app.
- If you are trying to recover (reset) your password because you can't sign in to your account, click here.
Click the gear button and choose "Settings".
Click the "Accounts and Import" tab.
Click on the link "Change password".
Enter the current password, then type the new password. You need to type the password twice to confirm it.

Method 2 of 3: Change your Yahoo! Mail
Sign in to the Yahoo! Mail with your Yahoo! your.
- If you are trying to recover your password because you can't sign in to your account, try to resolve it yourself.
Click the gear button and select "Account Info".
Click the "Account security" tab on the left.
Click "Change password".
Enter your new password. You must type the password twice to confirm.

Method 3 of 3: change Outlook.com (Hotmail) password
Sign in to the Outlook.com website with a Microsoft or Hotmail account. Outlook.com is the new name for Hotmail.
- If you can't sign in to your account because you can't remember your password, click here.
Click on the account name in the upper right corner. Usually this will be your real name.
Select "Account settings". You will be asked to re-type your password.
Click on the "Change password" link in the "Security & privacy" section.
Choose from among the options that receive "code" (code).
