This wiki page will show you how to turn off iCloud Music Library on your iPhone, iPad, or computer. ICloud Music Library is only available if you subscribe to Apple Music, and disabling this feature removes all songs downloaded from Apple Music from the current item (for example, your iPhone).

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On an iPhone

1. 

   Settings on iPhone. Tap the Settings app icon, which looks like a gray box with a set of gears on it.

   • If you don't see the "iCloud Music Library" option here, you haven't subscribed to Apple Music and therefore can't turn off (or turn on) iCloud Music Library.

   Press OK when prompted. This will confirm your decision and turn off iCloud Music Library. Apple Music will be removed from the iPhone; You can re-download it at any time by re-enabling iCloud Music Library. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: On the Desktop

   Open iTunes. Tap or double-click the iTunes app icon, like a multicolored musical note on a white background.
   • If prompted to install updates, do so before proceeding.

   Press Edit (Edit). It's the menu at the top of the iTunes window. A drop-down menu will appear.
   • On a Mac, you'll click iTunes in the top left corner of the screen.

   Press Preferences… (Option). This item is at the bottom of the drop-down menu. The Preferences window will pop up.

   Click tab General (General). This tab is at the top of the Preferences window.

   Uncheck the box for "iCloud Music Library". You will see this at the top of the window.
   • If you uncheck the box, iCloud Music Library will be disabled on your computer.
   • If you don't see this box, iCloud Music Library isn't available on your account.

   Press OK. This option is at the bottom of the Preferences window. This will save your changes and delete all the saved songs from Apple Music from your library. advertisement
