Smartphones offer incredible flexibility in customization making it incredibly easy to display information in a different language. All phones come with a pre-installed language, but you can change it to any other by following these simple steps. The principle of changing the language will depend on your phone model: iPhone, Android or regular phone (not smartphone).

Steps

Method 1 of 3: iPhone

1. 1 Go to "Settings". If your phone still has default settings, then the "Settings" button will be on the main screen. The icon looks like a gray gear.
2. 2 Select "General". After clicking on the "Settings" button, a list should appear. Scroll down until you see the General option, it will be a gray gear icon.
3. 3 Select "Language & Region". When a list appears under the General tab, scroll down until you find the Language & Region option. Click on it to open another menu.
4. 4 Find the language you want. You will see a list of languages ​​or, depending on your operating system version, you will need to select a language for your iPhone to access the list. Scroll down to find the language you want to put on your phone.
   • Languages ​​will first be written in their native language, and then in the language currently on the iPhone.
5. 5 Select your preferred language and click Finish. After that, a confirmation request will appear at the bottom of the screen, in which it will be written: "Do you really want to change the language to ___?"
   • Confirm the change by clicking on the "Change to ___" button. Within 20 seconds, your iPhone will change the language of your choice.

Method 2 of 3: Android

1. 1 Start from the main window. Click on the main button, which is located below the screen in the center. This button is like a house with a roof.
   • Some Samsung phones don't have a home icon on the home button. It will only be a raised button at the bottom center of the phone.
2. 2 Click on the "App Drawer" icon. It is located next to other icons at the bottom of the screen. In a Samsung phone, it is located in the far right corner. It looks like a series of dots arranged in a grid.
3. 3 Select "Settings". With the App Drawer open, find the Settings option. This icon will look different depending on your phone model. On older models, it looks like a gray and blue rectangle with horizontal sliders. On newer models, this icon looks like a round gear.
   • Do not press on the gear with the small “g” in the middle. This is the Google Settings app.
4. 4 Click on the white and gray "A" icon. When you open the settings, a list will appear. Click on the "A" icon to open the language options.
5. 5 Select your preferred language. After you click on "A", a list of available languages ​​will appear. They will be written in their own language to make it easier for you to find the one you want. For example, to select Spanish, you need to click on "Español", French - "Français". Click on the desired language and your phone will switch to it. Be patient, the process of switching to another language will take about 30 seconds.

Method 3 of 3: Regular phone

1. 1 Find the "Settings" option. Find where on your phone you can change the settings. Perhaps this option will be called "Options". It can be in the form of a gear. On older phone models, you must first open the menu and look for this option there.
2. 2 Select Phone Options. When you open the settings window, you will see an option called "Phone Settings" or something like that. This option will redirect you to another menu.
3. 3 Select "Language" and find the language you want. You will see a list with different languages ​​that are installed on your phone. This list will not be as extensive as on iPhone or Android, but it will include the most common languages.
