This wikiHow teaches you how to set up WeChat on your iPhone or iPad.

Steps

1. 

   Open WeChat. The app has a green icon with two white speech bubbles. But first, you need to download WeChat from the App Store if it is not already installed.

   Click on the option Sign Up (Register) is located in the lower right corner of the screen.
   • You may need to click Allow (Allow) or Don and Allow (Disallow) in the pre-popup to enable WeChat notifications.

   Enter your phone number in the "Mobile number" field in the middle of the page.
   • You can also change the country or region by clicking the link above the "Mobile number" field and then selecting your country.

   Press the button Sign Up green in the middle of the page.

   Click OK. WeChat will send a confirmation code to your phone number.

   Open the text on your phone. You will see a message with the content "WeChat verification code (1234) is only used to change linking ..." at the top of the most recent message.

   Enter the verification code into WeChat. Enter the code in the message into the "Enter code" field in the middle of the page.

   Click on the action Submit (Submit) is located below the "Enter code" field.

   Enter your usual name. This will be the name by which your contacts see you on WeChat.
   • If you already have a WeChat account associated with the phone number you just entered, you will be asked if you want to use that account information. To continue creating a new account, press No, continue signing up (No, continue with registration).

10. 

    Click next (Next). So you have completed the setup of the WeChat account.
    • You will also see an option to allow WeChat to access your contacts after setting up your account.

Advice

• If you have problems in the registration: delete the app, reboot the device, reload the app and follow the steps above.

Warning

• If you have just deleted the WeChat account associated with the current phone number in the past 3 months, you will not be able to create a completely new account but instead, you will reactivate the old account.
