Looking for a Flash game or movie that you can play or watch anytime, even when you are offline? You can download most SWF files by checking the website's code. If you have a Firefox browser, you can use some of the built-in tools to separate SWF files.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Chrome Browser, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari
Go to the page containing the SWF file you want to download. Choose to allow the files to be completely loaded on the web page.
Right-click on the web page and select "View Page Source". Or, you can press Ctrl + U. This way you will open the HTML code of the web page on a new tab or window.- On a Mac, press a key combination ⌘ Cmd+U
Press the key combination.Ctrl+Fto open the "Find" box. Thus you can locate SWF files more easily.
Type a phrase.swfin the Find box. Then each line containing the phrase "swf" will be highlighted.
Click the arrow mark in the Find box to move the other search results.
Check whether the URL path leads to a SWF file with a content title that matches your requirements. There are many websites that post SWF movies and games, so when you search for the phrase swf will show a lot of results. You must check the URL that connects to the file with the same name as the movie or game you are trying to download.
- Make sure the URL is still valid. There are some sites like Newgrounds that often have URLs with /, and usually not for the load. Surely the addresses found must be formatted correctly.
Copy the entire URL of the SWF file. Note, make sure that the end of the URL is ".swf". Only then can you directly download SWF files.
Paste the URL into a new tab. Press ↵ Enter to download SWF files. If you copy the exact URL, the SWF files are loaded in the entire tab.
Open your browser menu to save the file. The download process will vary depending on the browser type:
- For the browser Chrome - Click the Chrome Menu button (☰) (Customize and Control Chrome). Select "Save page as" and then choose a place where you want to save the SWF file.
- For the browser Firefox and Internet Explorer - Click the File menu and select "Save Page as". Select the location where you want to save the SWF file. If you cannot find the File menu, press the key Alt. Note for Internet Explorer (Windows 8 and 8.1): You can use an alternative browser to download swf files. Just go through the copied link to open the alternative browser. And after a few seconds, you will see a warning box: "Do you want to open or save". Please choose to save.
- For Safari - Click File and select "Save as". Select the location where you want to save the SWF files.
Start the SWF file. Once you've downloaded the file to your computer, simply drag it into an open browser window to run it. advertisement
Method 2 of 2: Firefox Browser
Download the page containing the SWF file you want to download. Choose to allow the files to be completely loaded on the web page.
Right-click on the web page and select "View Page Info".
Click the "Media" tab. This will open a list of all media files on the web pages.
Click on the "Type" column to sort the list by text.
Scroll down and find the file Objects (Icon).
Select the SWF file you want to download. Usually the names of the files will be similar to the titles of the videos or games.
Click on.Save As .... Select the location where you want to save the file.
Start the SWF file. When you've finished downloading the file, simply drag the file into an open browser window to launch it. advertisement
