LifeProof covers for smartphones or tablets are designed to withstand water, dust, impacts from outside and even snow. This type of housing requires absolute tightness and tightness, so it will not easily loosen over time. When removing the LifeProof cover, care should be taken so you can use it again later.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Remove the bottom cover

1. 

   Find the charging port on the bottom edge of the phone or tablet. Open the charging port cover.

   Find the small slot to the left of the charging port. This is a location designed for easy cover removal.

3. 

   Turn the cover over so that the back is facing up. Then, rotate the bottom edge of the phone facing you.

   Get a coin. Insert the coin into the small slot on the left of the charging port. Push the coin deep into the slot by gently rotating.
   • Continue to push gently until you hear a “click,” so the front and rear covers have been separated.

   Slide your finger under the cover where the charging port just opened. You should hear another "click" when the other side of the latch pops out.

   Continue to slide your finger deeper between the back of the phone / tablet and the back cover of the case. Hold the back cover while pushing it up and down to separate the back of the case from the front.
   • Several pins located along the side of the case will be detached when you remove the back cover from the front cover by pushing up and down.
   • Do not open the lid immediately. If you do not insert your finger between the phone / tablet and the back cover, the latch on the cover will be broken.

Part 2 of 2: Remove the top cover

1. 

   Turn the device and the LifeProof case over. Take the next step on a soft surface like your bed or sofa in case the phone or tablet falls off the lid.

2. 

   Use your thumb to press the surface of the front cover. Press in the center of the cover.

3. 

   Place your remaining fingers on the side of the case. Your phone will pop out in the back.

   Gently remove any remaining covers attached to the phone at a diagonal angle. advertisement

Advice

• Always wash your hands before attempting to remove the LifeProof cover. This is to limit dust and sweat from sticking to the iPhone or the case.

Warning

• Never pop or pull on the LifeProof cover with the lid just slightly open. Plastic is more susceptible to damage during disassembly. If you break any small pins on the top or the side of the case, the water resistance will be affected.
