In this article, wikiHow shows you how to use two monitors for the same desktop. This is possible for both Macs and Windows machines.However, with Windows, the graphics card of the computer must support the multi-monitor feature.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On Windows

1.

• Most laptops support HDMI (Windows, Mac), USB-C (Windows, Mac), and / or Thunderbolt (Mac only) connections. To connect a second monitor to your laptop, simply attach the monitor's cable to the laptop's video output port. Next, you can proceed with the same setup as with your desktop computer.

Warning

• When the second monitor has a significantly higher resolution than the first, crop or other graphic problems appear when you switch between the two monitors. Therefore, if possible, you should purchase a monitor with a resolution that matches the resolution of the first monitor.
