Part 1 of 2: Connecting to Wi-Fi

1. 

   Open the Settings section of your phone. The app has a gray (⚙️) gear image, located in the Home screen.

   Click WIFI near the top of the Settings menu.
   • The backup process requires a Wi-Fi connection.

3. 

   Swipe the "Wi-Fi" slider to the "On" position. The switch will turn green.

   Tap Wi-Fi network. Select a network from the list that appears below the "Choose a Network" section of the menu.
   • If required, enter a password.

Part 2 of 2: Setting up backups

1. 

   
   
   Open Settings. If the Wi-Fi settings screen is still open, tap Settings in the upper left corner to return to the main Settings screen. Or, just restart the Settings app as you did before.

   Tap on your Apple ID (Apple account). This item is at the top of the screen and includes your name and avatar (if you have already added it).
   • If you are not logged in, click Sign in to your iPhone (Sign in to your iPhone), enter your Apple ID and password, then tap Sign In (Log in).
   • If you're on an older version of iOS, you probably don't need to do this step.

   Click icloud is in the second part of the menu.

   Select which data to back up to iCloud. Swipe the button next to the listed apps like Notes, Calendars, and so on, to the "On" position (green) to include these data when iPhone is backed up.
   • Data for apps with sliders in the "Off" position (white) will not be backed up.

   Scroll down and tap iCloud Backup at the end of the second part.

6. 

   Swipe "iCloud Backup" to the "On" position. The switch will turn green. So iPhone will be backed up to iCloud account when the phone is plugged in to charge and connected to the Wi-Fi network.
   • To proceed with the backup immediately, you can click Back Up Now (Back up now) is at the bottom of the menu.
