Today's wikiHow teaches you how to recognize when someone has saved a message you've sent them in a Snapchat chat. Note: saving messages is different from your screenshot snap.

Steps

  1. Open the Snapchat app with a white ghost silhouette on a yellow background.
    • If you are not logged in, tap Log In then enter your username (or email address) and password.

  2. Swipe right on the camera screen. This will take you to the Chats page.
  3. Tap a contact's name. A chat window with that contact will open.
    • This must be the contact for which you have no unread messages.
    • You can find a specific contact by typing their name in the bar Search top of the screen.

  4. Swipe down on the chat window to scroll over your chat history with the selected contact.
    • If neither you nor this contact saved any messages, you will not be able to scroll up.

  5. Find messages with gray background. If you see a message with a gray background, it has been saved by you or a chat contact. Messages that you save will have a red vertical bar on the left, while messages saved by friends will have blue bars next to them.
    • You can save a chat message by long pressing on it.

Advice

  • Messages saved by both you and a conversation contact will appear in the chat history.

Warning

  • If you want to save a message, you need to do so before leaving the Chats page, otherwise the message will be lost.
