Check the label to determine the type of child-resistant device in the bottle. There are many types of childproof jars, including:

• Push down and rotate - a downward arrow or a label will say "Push down" on the lid.
• Squeeze around the lid and swing - there are grooves around the lid to help squeeze and rotate easily.
• Press the ear down and rotate - the lid will have a small protruding ear on which the word Press and may have arrows to indicate the direction of rotation.
• Arrow joint - on the lid there will be an arrow pointing down and on the top of the jar with an arrow pointing up.

Start opening the jar. Since each childproof bottle has its own locking mechanism, you must do the right thing to open the bottle. If your hand is not flexible enough to open the jar without using an additional method, skip this step.

• Push down and rotate - push the cover down and rotate until it opens.
• Squeeze around the lid and rotate - take advantage of the grooves around the lid to grip, then simultaneously squeeze and rotate the lid so that the lid opens.
• Press the ear down and rotate - press the ear down with your finger and rotate the lid to open it.
• Arrow joints - rotate the cap until the arrow on the lid aligns with the arrow on the top of the jar. Then, lift the cap off the vial.

Method 2 of 4: Use a table edge

1. 

   Turn the vial upside down and place it on a flat surface. Use a kitchen table or shelf.

   Press the palm of your dominant hand on the bottom of the bottle that is upside down. You should just press lightly on the bottom of the bottle.

3. 

   Rotate vial while holding lid in place with friction. If possible, hold the lid with your other hand so it does not move.

4. 

   Stop rotating when the cover is opened. Then, using your dominant hand, hold both the lid and the bottle upside down.

Method 4 of 4: Use a bottle opener

   Buy bottle opener online or at your local hardware store. Look for one made of rubber with anti-slip grooves, as it will grip the lid more firmly.

   • In urgent cases, you can use a small rubber pad because it helps increase grip when opening the lid.

2. 

   Place the bottle opener on top of the bottle. If possible, keep the bottle in place with your other hand.
   • If you have another rubber pad nearby, place it underneath the jar to keep it in place instead of using your hands.

3.
