Here's an article that shows you how to start the YouTube channel monetization process and link up with your AdSense account to receive payments, using a web browser. After you verify your account and accept the YouTube monetization terms, you can link your AdSense account in Creator Studio to receive advertising revenue and payments. You can also start the monetization process and link your AdSense accounts right away, but you must meet YouTube's minimum requirement of 4,000 watch hours and 1,000 followers to enable monetization.

Steps

Part 1 of 3: Start the YouTube channel monetization process

   Click the button I accept (Accepted) blue. It's the button in the lower-right corner of the currently displayed window. Now that you have completed the first step of the monetization setup process.
   • You can now link up your AdSense account to your YouTube channel.

Part 2 of 3: Linking an AdSense account

   Click the button START (Start) in blue next to "Sign Up for AdSense". After completing the first step of the monetization process, you can either link an existing AdSense account or create a new one in the second step.

   Click the button next (Continue). When you see the message "You will be redirected to AdSense ..."(You will be redirected to AdSense ...) below the" Monetization "heading, click this button at the bottom of the page to open AdSense.

   Select the Google AdSense account you want to link. You will be asked to select a Google account to create an AdSense link to your YouTube channel.
   • If you'd like to use an existing AdSense account, choose right here.
   • If you choose a Google account that doesn't have an AdSense profile set up, you'll be redirected to the new AdSense profile creation page.

   Click the button LINK TO YOUTUBE (Link to YouTube) is blue. This is the button at the bottom of the AdSense page. This will link your AdSense account to your YouTube channel and return you to the Creator Studio page.
   • Once your AdSense account is linked, you can go ahead and complete your monetization or return and complete it later.

Part 3 of 3: Complete the monetization process

   Click the button START (Start) next to "Set monetization preferences". Once you've linked AdSense, you can continue to step three of the YouTube channel monetization setup.
   • The screen will display a new window with monetization options.

   Make sure the "Monetize all existing and future videos" slider is enabled. The slider will turn blue when enabled. When this option is enabled, the entire video will have monetization functionality and you will receive advertising revenue.
   • If you turn this option off, all your videos won't have monetization unless you actively turn on monetization for a certain video. You will have to enable monetization for each video on the page VIDEO MANAGER (Video Management).

   Check the box next to the ad type you want to use. The first option ("Display ads") is required on all channels, and you can enable / disable other forms of advertising here.
   • Overlay ads (Overlay Ads) will show the ad below the video viewed on the computer.
   • Sponsored cards (Sponsored Card) will show square ads from the sponsored company at the end of the video.
   • Skippable video ads (Skippable video ad) will show the skippable ad before the video has started.

4. 

   Click the button SAVE (Save). It's the button in the lower-right corner of the currently displayed window.That way, you've completed the third step of the monetization process and will be returned to the "Monetization" page.

5. 

   Meet the watchtime and subscription requirements. Your channel monetization application process will be officially reviewed by YouTube once you have reached the minimum number of watch hours and subscriptions. Your channel will need at least:
   • 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months.
   • 1,000 followers.
   • You can check the progress at step 4 on the "Monetization" page.
   • The channel review officially starts when you have met the watchtime requirement.
