This article shows you how to check and download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox browser.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Manually updating Firefox

1. 

   Open the Firefox app. The icon is a circle with the wolf curled around the globe.

   Click Help in the upper left corner of the screen.

3. 

   Click About Firefox (About Firefox). Firefox will open the dialog box, then automatically check for and download the available updates.

   Click Restart Firefox to Update (Restart Firefox for Update) in the dialog box. Updates will be installed when Firefox restarts. advertisement

Part 2 of 2: Installing Automatic Updates

   Click ☰ in the upper left corner of the screen.

3. 

   Click Options (Option).

4. 

   Click Advanced (Advanced). The button is at the bottom of the menu on the left side of the window.

   Click Update (Update). The item is at the top of the window.

6. 

   Select the "Firefox updates" setting. Click the radio button next to one of the following:
   • "Automatically install updates (recommended: improved security)" (Automatically install updates (recommended: improved security))
   • "Check for updates, but let you choose whether to install them", but let you choose whether to install them "
   • "Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)" (Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk))

7. 

   Close the tag by clicking the "x" next to the "Options" tab. The update settings have been configured. advertisement
