After you have earned a horse in the Minecraft game and brought that horse back to the base, you will probably feel satisfied for a while. However, what if your friend needs a horse, your horse is injured or you want to have a horse with better stats? In that case, you need to have a horse farm and breed (breed) horses.

Steps

1. 

   Choose 2 adult horses or donkeys that have not been bred in the last 5 minutes. You should choose them based on the traits you desire in their child. The stats of the male and the female will be averaged with the random stats of the horse you imagine. You can breed horses and donkeys to get mule. However, since the mule is infertile, it cannot be bred with another mule.

   Take 2 golden apple or golden carrot. Yellow apples cost you 9 times more gold than yellow carrots (72 gold lumps vs. 8 gold lumps) so obviously you should use yellow carrots. What you use does not affect the foal.
   • You can make a golden apple or yellow carrot by placing gold nugget around the carrot or placing gold ingots around the apple in the workbench.

   Feed both horses a golden apple or yellow carrot.

   Wait about a minute. Let them be natural.

   Now the foal is born.
   • It takes about 20 minutes for the foal to mature (if you use the rail) but you can speed up the process. To make the foal grow faster, feed it with hay, wheat, sugar, apples, yellow apples, and yellow carrots. For the horse to mature immediately, you need to feed him 5 golden apples (20 gold bars) or 7 hay (63 wheat) or 60 wheat or 64 sugar or 24 golden carrots (21 and 1/3 bars yellow) or 20 apples. There are times when the horse is not fully grown, meaning it looks like an adult horse but you cannot ride it yet.

Advice

• Males and mares do not have to eat the same food. You can feed one apple and the other with carrots!
• The foals will usually follow the mother and father so make sure they do not follow you to dangerous places.
• The new horse has not been tamed. If you want to own a horse, you will have to tame it as it matures.
• The ponies will usually have the same color as the parent (9 times, 8 times).
• It is not possible to use yellow carrots when breeding nursing donkeys.
• You can summon skeleton horse and zombie horse by typing the following command: / Summon HorseEntity ~ ~ ~ {Type: 3, Tame: 1} (You can replace 3 with 4 and not necessarily type Tame: 1).
