Steps

Method 1 of 4: Use blocking code before calling

1. 

   Open the Phone app. If you want to hide the number from the recipient, you can enter some numbers before the phone number to hide the caller ID.
   • If you're using a landline, just pick up the phone and dial the number.

   Import *67. This code works with most of the mobile network service providers in North America. Some of the other popular blocking codes include:
   • *67 - Applied in USA (except AT&T network), Canada (landline), New Zealand (Vodafone phone)
   • #31# - Available in USA (AT&T mobile), Australia (mobile network), Albania, Argentina (mobile network), Bulgaria (mobile network), Denmark, Canada (mobile network), France, Germany (some mobile network operator), Greece (mobile network), India (after unlocking the network only), Israel (mobile network), Italy (mobile network), The Netherlands (KPN phone), South Africa (mobile network), Spain (mobile network), Sweden, Switzerland (mobile network)
   • *31# - Applied in Argentina, Germany, Switzerland (landline)
   • 1831 - Applied in Australia (landline)
   • 3651 - Applied in France (landline)
   • *31* - Applies in Greece (landline), Iceland, Netherlands (most carriers), Romania, South Africa (Telkom phones)
   • 133 - Applicable in Hong Kong
   • *43 - Israel (landline)
   • *67# - Applied in Italy (landline)
   • 184 - Applied in Japan
   • 0197 - Apply in New Zealand (Telecom or Spark phones)
   • 1167 - Applicable to dialing phones in North America
   • *9# - Applied in Nepal (with NTC prepaid / postpaid phones only)
   • *32# - Applied in Pakistan (PTCL phone)
   • *23 or *23# - Applied in Korea
   • 067 - Applied in Spain (landline)
   • 141 - Applicable in UK, Republic of Ireland
   • If your device uses a GSM network (such as an Android phone), you can always dial the code #31# to hide caller ID.

   Enter the rest of the number you want to call. Usually, phone numbers include 10 numbers.

   Make a call. Unless you're calling 911 or the 800 toll-free number, the recipient won't be able to see your phone number. advertisement

Method 2 of 4: Determine the blocking code

1. 

   
   
   Open a search engine of your choice. If the standard blocking code (such as # 31 #) doesn't work, your country and carrier might have its own code that's not in international reach.

2. 

   Look for the keyword "block code" or "block code", followed by phone model, country and current carrier information. For example, to locate the block code for a Verizon iPhone in the US, type "united states verizon wireless iphone caller id block code" into a search engine.
   • If you are using a landline, you need to replace "iPhone" (or similar) with the word "landline".
   • If you don't see any relevant results, customize your language by entering "hide caller id" instead of "caller id block code" (or similar).

   Visit the carrier's website. Information for your inquiry can be found here. Here are the popular carriers:
   • Verizon Wireless
   • Sprint
   • T-Mobile
   • AT&T
   • Vodafone

   Call your carrier. If you still can't find information about the blocking code you can use, contact your nearest carrier's branch. You may need to wait a few hours before you can see your caseworker.
   • You can also ask your carrier to enable permanent caller ID hiding, but usually they will ask you to pay.

Method 3 of 4: Using the Settings app (iOS)

1. 

   Open the Settings app on your iPhone. This app has a gray gear image located on the Home screen.
   • With a Verizon iPhone, you won't be able to use the phone's settings to disable caller ID.

2. 

   Scroll down and tap Phone. Options are in the same section as applications like Messages and FaceTime.

3. 

   Click Show My Caller ID (Show my caller ID). If your carrier doesn't support it (as in the case of Verizon phones), you won't see this feature here.

   Swipe the button Show My Caller ID to the left. This switch will turn white. From now on, your phone number will not be visible to the person called. advertisement

Method 4 of 4: Using the Settings app (Android)

1. 

   Open the Phone app on Android. This app has a blue phone icon, usually located in the Home screen or the App Drawer app drawer.
   • Some carriers do not support hiding caller ID. If you can't find the right option in the Phone app, you can call your carrier and ask.

   Click on the icon ⋮ in the upper right corner of the screen.

3. 

   Click on the option Settings at the bottom of the drop-down menu that appears.

   Click Calls (Call).

5. 

   Click Additional Settings (Additional installation).

6. 

   Click Caller ID (Caller ID). Set up Caller ID will be loaded.

7. 

   Choose Hide Number (Hidden number). After a few seconds of service, you will be back with the menu "Caller ID". The Android device's phone number will no longer be visible to the recipient of your call. advertisement

Advice

• Caller ID is usually not visible with text messages.
• If you use a mobile phone, you can set up Google Voice to hide your number when calling abroad (not yet applied in Vietnam).

Warning

• If the recipient is using the Anonymous Call Rejection feature when you hide the number, dial the code *82 (in the US) or 1470 (in the UK) to temporarily disable hiding your caller ID before calling them.
