This wikiHow teaches you how to find and redial a blocked number on your phone. Blocked numbers will not display the caller ID on the phone as usual, meaning that if you want to call them back, it's not easy. You can use the country's callback code to call the blocked number as soon as they call you, or you'll need to use a smartphone app like TrapCall or Truecaller to determine the number in advance.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: By callback code
on iPhone or Google Play Store
with Android, then:- With iPhone - Choose Search (Search), tap the search bar, type trapcall, press Search, Press the button GET (Get) to the right of the app name "TrapCall: Stop Block ..." and enter your Touch ID or Apple ID password when prompted.
- With Android - Click the search bar, enter trapcall, select the application TrapCall: Unmask Blocked & Private, Press the button INSTALL (Settings) and select ACCEPT (Accept).

on iPhone / Android and proceed as follows:- With iPhone - Choose card Search, press the search bar, enter truecaller and press Search, Press the button GET Next to the "Truecaller" heading, scan the Touch ID sensor or enter your Apple ID password when prompted.
- With Android - Click the search bar, enter truecaller, select the application Truecaller: Caller ID, SMS spam blocking & Dialer in the drop-down menu, click INSTALL and press ACCEPT when prompted.
- Truecaller offers the option to upgrade to a paid account with the ability to increase the number of contact requests you can receive monthly, while also eliminating ads.
Open Truecaller. Press the button OPEN on the Truecaller application page to open.
Enter your phone number. Click on the text box "Your phone number" and enter your phone number (including country code).
Click on the option GET STARTED (Start) is at the bottom of the screen.
Click Yes when the option appears. Truecaller will send you a verification message.
Confirm phone number. Open your phone's Messages app, view the 6-character code in a text message, then enter the code in the text box on Truecaller.
Create Account. Fill in the following fields:
- First Name - Enter your name.
- Last Name - Enter your last name.
- You can also enter an email address in the "Email" text box, but this information is not required.

Turn on Truecaller in your smartphone's Settings by:
- On iPhone - Click Open Settings (Open settings), press the "Back" button in the upper left corner of the screen, select Phone, click Call Blocking & Identification then press the white "Truecaller" switch. You can then return to Truecaller by double-clicking the Home button and selecting the Truecaller window.
- On Android - Because the process will vary by Android model, you should follow the instructions on Truecaller.
Click Skip (Skip) in the upper right corner of the screen.
Allow Truecaller to access contacts. Click Allow Permissions (Allow Permissions), then press OK or Allow when the option appears.
Update spam list on Truecaller. Choose card Spam ID then click Update now (Update now) near the middle of the screen. This will ensure that the spam list is always updated promptly with the most recent disturbing numbers.
Retain Truecaller. Truecaller will automatically alert to similar phishing or spam calls, you can also see the annoying caller in case you want to call them back.
- If you receive calls from a private number (such as someone else's mobile number), Truecaller will rarely show your phone number. In this case, you can try using TrapCall instead.
Advice
- For spam calls, it's best not to call back.
Warning
- Most spam calls are robocall, meaning that the voice on the other end of the line is not from the real person. Calling back these numbers doesn't do any good, and even get you added to the call list of spam services.
