Minecraft is one of the most popular computer games in the world. One of the main reasons this game is so popular is that it can be installed on almost any computer. Installing Minecraft for Windows has become much simpler thanks to the new Minecraft Launcher. This launcher includes all the necessary Java files, meaning you don't need to install Java yourself. If you're on Mac or Linux, you'll still have to install Java yourself.

Method 1 of 5: On Windows
Visit the Minecraft download page. This page has the path of.

Minecraft runs very slowly, or crashes frequently. The reason is usually due to the computer not meeting the Minecraft requirements. To play the game as smoothly as possible, you need the following:
- 4 GB RAM
- 1 GB of hard drive storage
- Discrete graphics card
Method 2 of 5: On a Mac
Download and install Java. You need Java installed to run Minecraft on OS X. You can download Java for OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) by clicking here.

- Select "binary driver" for the graphics card and click "Apply Changes".

- Open Terminal. You can press Ctrl+Alt+T to quickly do this.
- Type sudo apt-add-repository ppa: webupd8team / java and press ↵ Enter.
- Type sudo apt-get update and press ↵ Enter.
- Type sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer and press ↵ Enter.
- Follow the instructions to install Java.
Download Minecraft from the site.. Click the "Show all platforms" link, then click the link.
Once downloaded, right click on the file.and choose "Properties". Select the tab "Permissions" and check the box "Allow executing file as program". Click "Apply".
