This wikiHow teaches you how to use the Canon CameraWindow program to transfer pictures from a Canon camera to a Windows computer. Note: Canon cameras must be Wi-Fi enabled to connect to CameraWindow. In addition, CameraWindow is an old program, so it may not be compatible with many camera models released after 2015.

Steps

Part 1 of 4: Download and extract Canon CameraWindow

1.

3. Click Network on the left side of the window.
4. Double-click the camera name.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

   . Click the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen.

   Open CameraWindow. Import camerawindow go to the Start window and click CameraWindow at the top of the search results list appears.

   Click the "Settings" option with the gear icon in the top right corner of the window. The Settings window will appear.

   Click the card Import (Import) is at the top of the Settings window.

    Click Folder Settings (Install folder). This tab is near the top of the window.

    Click Browse ... (Browse). This option is in the middle right of the page. A File Explorer window will appear.

    Choose a folder. Click the folder that you want to use to save the copied images, then click Open (Open) or Select Folder (Select Folder) in the lower right corner of the pop-up window.

    Click OK at the bottom of the window. The settings will be saved and the Settings window will close.

    Click Import Images from Camera (Import pictures from camera). This option is in the middle of the window.

    Click Import All Images (Import all photos). This option is in the middle of the menu. The image in the camera will begin copying to the computer.
    • If you want to import specific pictures, click Select Images to Import (Select pictures to import), select each photo you want to import and click the arrow Import in the lower right corner of the window.

    Wait for the import to complete. After the progress bar in the middle window disappears, the image has been copied. The image will now be in the folder you selected earlier. advertisement

Advice

• If you are unable to install the required camera driver over the network, try connecting the camera to the computer via the included USB cable to install the driver.

Warning

• In most cases, using the camera's USB cable and the computer's default Photos app to import photos is faster than using CameraWindow.
