This wikiHow teaches you how to create and add watermark (watermark) or symbol (logo) to Excel worksheet file. You can use WordArt word art to create transparent watermark on the worksheet background, or insert a logo image to create letterheading at the top of the page.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Add WordArt to the background of the worksheet

1. 

   Open the Excel file you want to edit. Open Microsoft Excel on your computer and double-click the file in the saved sheet list.

   Click the card Insert (Insert). This button is in the center of the card Home and Page Layout in the upper right corner of the screen. The Insert toolbar opens at the top of the worksheet.

   Click an option WordArt in the Insert toolbar. This button has a "A"italicized to the right. A list of available WordArt styles will appear in a pop-up window.

   Choose a style for the watermark. Click the style you want to select in the WordArt pop-up window. A new WordArt frame will be inserted into the worksheet.

   Edit content in WordArt text frames. Click the text in the WordArt frame and enter the text you want to use as a watermark.

   Right-click on the WordArt frame. Right-click options will open in a pop-up menu.

   Choose Format Shape (Shape Format) from the right-click menu. A menu of text and shape options opens.

   Choose Solid fill is below the Text fill option. This option allows you to edit the transparency of the art text on the sheet background.
   • In Excel 2015 and later, click the tab Text Options (Text Options) is at the top of the menu pane to see the Text Fill options.
   • On earlier versions, click the option Text Fill is in the menu on the left side of the Format window. Then, click the card Solid at the top and choose a color.
   • Or you can edit the outlines of the text here. No Fill, Solid Fill or Gradient Fill are the text border options used to change the transparency of a line.

   Increase the Transparency slider to 70%. Click and drag the Transparency slider to the right so that the WordArt watermark becomes relatively transparent on the sheet background.

    Edit watermark properties. You can change the size, position, and orientation of the WordArt frame to ensure that the watermark is suitable for personal or business needs.
    • Click and drag the WordArt frame to move the watermark around the worksheet.
    • Click and move the circular arrow icon at the top of the frame to change the angle and direction of the watermark.
    • Double-click the text and change the font size in the tab Home If you want to make the watermark bigger or smaller.

Method 2 of 2: Add a letterhead logo

1. 

   Open the Excel file you want to edit. Open Microsoft Excel on your computer and double-click the file in the saved sheet list.

2. 

   Click the card Insert in the top left corner of the menu bar, next to the button Home.
   • On older versions, you may need to click a tag View.

3. 

   Click the button Header & Footer (Header & Footer) in the Insert toolbar. The header area will be created at the top and footer area at the bottom of the worksheet.

   Click on the area Click to add header at the top of the sheet. Toolbar Thiết kế will appear above.
   • Depending on your version of Excel, this tag also has a name Header & Footer.

   Click Picture located in the toolbar. This option is next to the button Sheet Name in the Design tab. A new window will appear allowing you to select a picture to insert.

   Click Browse to browse through the entire file on the pop-up window.

   Select the symbol picture you want to insert. Find and click the file located in the pop-up window to select it.

   Click the button Insert. The logo will be inserted at the beginning of the sheet.
   • The selected icon is displayed in the title area at the top of each page.
