This article shows you how to block calls from anonymous numbers or contacts on iPhone.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Using Settings

1. 

   Open Settings with a gray gear icon (⚙️) and usually appear on the home screen.

   Touch Phone (Phone). This app is often grouped with other Apple apps like Mail and Notes.

3. 

   Touch Call Blocking & Identification (Call Blocking & ID) in the "CALLS" section of the menu.
   • A complete list of the previously blocked contacts and anonymous numbers is displayed.

   Scroll down the list and select Block Contact (Block Contacts) at the bottom of the screen.
   • If the list of blocked callers exceeds the screen, you'll have to scroll down below.

5. 

   Select the contact to block. You will do this by touching the name of the person you want to block. As such, this number will not be able to contact your iPhone by call, FaceTime or text.
   • Repeat the previous two steps for all anonymous numbers or contacts you want to block.
   • You can unblock numbers from this menu by touching Edit (Edit) in the upper right corner of the screen and select the number.

Method 2 of 3: Use the Phone app

1. 

   
   
   Open the green Phone app with a white phone icon, usually displayed on the home screen.

2. 

   Touch Recents (Recent) with clock icon in the lower left corner of the screen.

3. 

   Touch ⓘ next to the number you want to block on the right side of the screen.

4. 

   Scroll down the screen and tap Block this Caller (Block this caller) at the bottom of the menu.

5. 

   Touch Block Contact (Block contact). Now, calls from this number will not be able to reach your iPhone. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Block entire calls

1. 

   Open Settings with the gray gear icon (⚙️), usually displayed on the home screen.

2. 

   Touch Do Not Disturb (Do not disturb) in the section near the top of the menu, next to a moon icon on a purple background.

3. 

   Touch Allow Calls From (Allow calls from) in the middle of the screen.

4. 

   Touch No One (No one) to block all incoming calls to your phone.
   • Touch Favorites (Favorites) to block calls from everyone except those in the "Favorites" list.
   • Touch Everyone (Everyone) to allow chat from anyone.

5. 

   Swipe up any screen from the bottom to open the Control Center.

6. 

   Tap the crescent moon icon in the circle in the upper right corner of Control Center. Now calls will be blocked except for the group you selected. advertisement

Advice

• Setting the silent number to the number you want to block is also one way to block calls.
