This article shows you how to open PDF files on Android phones. The easiest way to do this is to install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader application, which allows you to open the downloaded PDF file as well as the PDF file that is included in the email. You can use the free Google Drive app to open PDF files on your Android device.

Steps

Part 1 of 4: Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader

1. 

   Google Play Store with its multicolored triangle icon on a white background, usually found in the App Drawer.
   • If the Google Play Store is divided into multiple apps, choose Google Play Store Games.

   (Download) on the PDF preview, then confirm your choice and / or choose where to save it if asked.
4. Web link - Touch the path, select ⋮ In the upper right corner, touch Download (Download), then confirm your choice and / or choose where to save if asked.

Part 4 of 4: Using Google Drive

1. 

   
   
   Google Play Store, and then do the following:
   • Touch the search bar.
   • Type google drive, then touch Google Drive in the list of search results.
   • Touch INSTALL (Settings), then select ACCEPT (Accepted) when asked.

   Open Google Drive. Tap the Google Drive app with the green, yellow, and blue triangles icon, or tap OPEN (Open) in Google Play Store when Google Drive has just been installed. This will open the Google Drive login page.

   Sign in to your account. Tap the account you want to use for Google Drive, then enter the password when prompted.
   • If you only have one Google account on your Android device, you'll be signed in automatically.
   • If you have Google Drive installed and signed in to your Google account on Android, skip this step and the next step.

   Touch SKIP (Skip) in the lower left corner of the screen. This will ignore the Google Drive manual and take you to your Google Drive folder.

   Add PDF files to Google Drive. This will vary depending on whether the PDF file is saved on your computer or Android device:
   • Computer Go to https://drive.google.com/ and sign in, then select new (New), click File upload (Upload the file), choose your PDF and click Open (Open) on either Windows Choose (Select) on a Mac.
   • Android - Touch +, choose Upload (Upload), select your PDF and tap ALLOW (Allowed) when asked.

6. 

   Choose your PDF. Find and tap the PDF you uploaded. The PDF file will open in Google Drive, allowing you to view the content as you like. advertisement

Advice

• Adobe Acrobat Reader will be the default PDF viewer if you do not have another PDF viewer installed on your device.

Warning

• Adobe Acrobat Reader is free, but you'll need to pay for the upgraded version if you want to edit PDFs.
