Hearthfire - the expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - allows players to adopt children, build houses, buildings and other furniture from scratch. The player can only start Hearthfire after chatting with the Jarl (nobles) of Morthal, Dawnstar, Falkreath and completing the assigned quests.

Steps

1. 

   Launch Hearthfire expansion pack. A letter will be sent to confirm to you that the land is available for purchase.

2. 

   
   
   Move to the castle of Jarl of Dawnstar, Falkreath or Morthal. These cities are the homes of Jarl, you will buy land from them.

3. 

   Talk to Jarl. Jarl will give you quests that you must complete in order to buy land.

   Fulfilling Jarl's request. The missions will vary depending on the city you are in. For example, if you talk to Jarl of Falkreath, you will be ordered to kill the leader of the bandits in the Bilegulch Mine.

5. 

   Return to Jarl after completing the quest. Jarl will appoint you as Thanes (the lowest-ranking noble), from which you will be able to buy land under Jarl's jurisdiction.

   Choose to ask Jarl about buying the land. Jarl will let the butler talk to you to complete the transaction.

7. 

   Confirm with the housekeeper that you want to buy a home. The price to buy land is 5000 pieces of gold.

8. 

   Choose to buy. The butler will deliver a deed to your property.

9. 

   Use the map to go to the lot you just bought from Jarl. When you arrive, a set of tools and guides will appear. Now you can build houses and adopt children according to the Hearthfire expansion. advertisement

Advice

• Consider making your butler to Housecarl after buying land from Jarl. This allows you to purchase wood, stone and clay directly from Housecarl.
