Steps

Method 1 of 3: On iPhone and iPad

1. 

   Open the Messenger app with the lightning bolt in the blue dialogue box.

   Click your profile icon with a blue human figure in the upper left corner of the screen.

3. 

   Click on the item People (Contacts) are below Notifications (Notification).

   Click Blocked (Blocked). This item is usually at the bottom.

   Tap the name of the person you want to unblock.

   Slide the "Block Messages" button to the Off position. The switch will turn white. So from now on, you can contact this person and vice versa. advertisement

Method 2 of 3: On Android

1. 

   Open the Messenger app with the lightning bolt in the blue dialogue box.

2. 

   Click the icon of the profile page with the gray human figure in the upper right corner of the screen.

3. 

   Scroll down and tap People (Everyone) right below the item SMS.

4. 

   Click Blocked People (Blocked people). This is the last option on the list.

5. 

   Click on the action Unblock (Unblock) next to the username.

6. 

   Click Unblock on Messenger (Unblock on Messenger). This is the first option listed. So from now on, you and this person will be able to message each other using Facebook Messenger. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: On the computer

1. 

   Access www.facebook.com with your browser.
   • Log in with your Facebook account (if necessary).

2. 

   Click the mark ↓ in the upper right corner of the screen.

3. 

   Click select item Settings (Settings) is somewhere in the bottom half of the options menu.

4. 

   Click Blocking (Block) is in the top half of the drop-down menu on the left side of the page.

5. 

   Scroll down to the "Block Messages" section. The list below this item is the user that you have blocked from communicating on Messenger.

   Click Unblock (Unblock) next to the person's name. Make sure this person's name is on the right side of the line Block messages from (Block messages from). From now on, you and the person will be able to communicate with each other through Facebook Messenger. advertisement
