With WhatsApp you can see if your contacts are online, and also when they last used the app. While you can't see the status of every contact at once, you can check it quite easily for each person individually.

To step

1. Open WhatsApp.
2. Tap Chats.
3. Tap a conversation. Choose a conversation with the contact whose online status you want to see.
   • If you haven't started a conversation with the contact whose online status you want to see, you need to start a new chat. Tap the pencil icon in the top right corner.
4. View his / her status. If he / she is online, it will say "online" below the contact name. Otherwise it will say 'last seen. today at ... "
   • "Online" means that your contact is currently using the app.
   • "Last seen. today at… "means that the contact last used the app at that specific time.
   • If the other person is just contacting you, there may be something else, such as "typing ..." or "recording ...".

Tips

• At this time, you cannot see the status of a contact in the contact list. You only see it in conversations.
