Xbox Live is an online membership that allows players to play games online. You may want to cancel this for whatever reason. With an internet connection or over the phone, you can easily arrange the cancellation of your Xbox Live membership.

To step

Method 1 of 3: Cancel online

1. Go to the Xbox website. Go to www.xbox.com and log in to your account. Log in with your Microsoft credentials and go directly to My Account.
   • Use the information from your Xbox Live account.
   • You may have to enter this information several times before you can access your My Account page.
2. Select "Payment and Billing". In the My Account page you will see 4 options: Payment & Billing, Subscriptions, Security, Family & Forums, and Manage Devices. Select "Payment and Billing".
   • Subscriptions provides an overview of all active subscriptions with Xbox Live. You also get to see how long they have been active.
3. Select "Remove Payment Options". By selecting this option you will see the details of your credit card and the expiry date. Here you can delete this data.
4. Click on "Remove". Click "Remove" to turn off the automatic renewal of your Xbox Live subscription (assuming it is on). The system will ask you to confirm this. Select "Yes" to proceed with deactivation.
   • Technically, you will remain a member of Xbox Live until your membership expires. With this method you cancel your membership with the expiry of your membership term.

Method 2 of 3: Cancel by phone

1. Have all the information available, such as your email, phone number, or gamer tag. The employee needs this to be able to confirm your identity.
   • You need to have your phone or email ready as they will either text you or email you with a "security proof" to confirm your identity.
2. Call Xbox support. Call the Xbox Help Desk on 0800 023 3894.
   • Follow the voice prompts for language selection and subject. Then an employee will take over.
3. Be careful. Unlike canceling online, canceling over the phone can cancel your membership immediately, without waiting for this subscription period to end. In short, this method can terminate your membership immediately, if you request it.

Method 3 of 3: Via the "Contact Us" Page

1. Choose a contact method. On this page, you can either chat with a Microsoft support representative or request a callback so that you can indicate that you want to cancel your Xbox Live membership.
   • If you want to chat with an employee. By choosing to chat with an employee, you can indicate that you want to cancel. Before opening the chat window, indicate why you are contacting.
   • Instead of contacting Microsoft support, you can request to be called back by a representative by clicking on "Request a Support Phone Call" on the Contact Us page. Indicate the number on which you can be reached and make sure that you have that telephone at hand.
2. Be specific. Clearly indicate what you want during the conversation with the employee. Remember that you can cancel immediately if you clearly indicate this.
3. Wait your turn. You can be queued when busy. The waiting time is indicated on the page.

• Be patient, sometimes you have to wait a long time while calling.

Warnings

• Do not cancel unless you are sure. It can be quite a job to register again.
