It happens all too often that you are stuck with a scanned JPG file in which you cannot change values, such as a date or name, in the same way as in a Word document. You can use OCR technology to convert the scanned JPEG file into an editable Word document, and then make the adjustments. You can use an online OCR service or download OCR software to do the conversion.

Method 1 of 2: Using an Online OCR Service

1. Go to http://www.onlineocr.net. This website converts a JPEG to a Word document for free.
2. Select the image file you want to convert on your computer.
3. Select the language in which the scanned file is written.
4. Select the desired output file format - the default is docx.
5. Enter the captcha and click the convert button.
6. Download the converted .docx file after conversion is complete.

Method 2 of 2: Download OCR Software

1. Click on this link: "JPEG to Word Converter" to download and install the software.
2. Open the JPEG file and select Word format as the desired file format. Click on the Save button.
3. The Word file will be converted and opened by the software.

Tips

• The better the scan quality of the JPEG file, the better the resulting Word document.

Warnings

• OCR technology is not 100% accurate. Not every conversion will be exactly right.
