Temporary tattoos are great fun for kids, a fancy dress party or a night when you feel like looking cool without being stuck with a real tattoo forever. But they are sometimes difficult to remove. At a certain point they start to peel off and you want to get rid of them. Follow these methods to rub, pluck, or soak the tattoo off.

To step

Method 1 of 4: Method 1: Scrub off temporary tattoos

  1. Put a little baby oil on the temporary tattoo. Keep in mind that most temporary tattoos can withstand soap and water, so oil is best if you want to scrub them off.
    • You can also put a little alcohol on a cotton ball or tissue and rub it over the tattoo. Be careful though, alcohol can burn on your skin.
    • If you don't have baby oil at home, olive oil works well too.
  2. Let the oil sit for a minute. The oil can then soak into your skin and into the tattoo, making it easier to rub it off.
  3. Take a washcloth and scrub the tattoo vigorously. It will now start to get lumpy and will come off. Keep rubbing until the entire tattoo is off.
    • You can also use paper towels instead of a washcloth.
  4. Wash off the remaining oil with warm water and soap. Wash until you don't see any oil on your skin. Pat it dry with a towel.

Method 2 of 4: Method 2: Peel off the tattoo with tape

  1. Tear several pieces of tape from a roll. Clear adhesive tape works better than, for example, painter's tape. Hang the pieces on the edge of the table.
  2. Press a piece of tape onto the temporary tattoo. Make sure to press it down well so that the surface adheres to the tattoo. Rub your finger vigorously over the tape.
  3. Pull the tape off your skin. The tattoo will then come with the tape. You will probably have to repeat this process a few times, especially if it is a large tattoo.
  4. Rub an ice cube over where the tattoo was. Do this when the entire tattoo has been removed. This will ensure that it becomes less red and irritated.

Method 3 of 4: Method 3: Use an oily cream to remove temporary tattoos

  1. Apply greasy cream to the temporary tattoo. Make sure the whole picture is covered.
  2. Let the cream soak into the skin. You need to let it work for about an hour for it to do its job properly.
  3. Rub the cream off with a washcloth. Use warm water and soap to scrub off any cream.

Method 4 of 4: Use nail polish remover

  1. Wet a cotton ball with nail polish remover. If you don't have this you can also use alcohol.
  2. Rub the cotton ball over the tattoo. Rub so hard that it comes off the skin. You may need to wet the cotton ball again depending on the size of the tattoo.
  3. Wash your skin well with warm water and soap. Use a washcloth to clean your skin where the tattoo will be. Make sure to remove any nail polish remover residue.

Tips

  • Many tattoos will fade on their own when you shower, so if you prefer not to treat your skin as roughly as possible, just wait a few days - the tattoo will disappear on its own.
