This article will guide you on how to share YouTube videos at a specific time. By adding the extension to the URL, the video will play at the moment you want. However, this method is not applicable on mobile devices.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: Pause the video

1. 

   Visit YouTube. Go to the page of the video you want to show everyone. If you don't know how, learn how to search and watch YouTube videos.

   Pause the video at the desired time. Stop the video at the moment you want to share. The time stamp appears in the lower left corner of the video player. In this example it is "0:11/ 2: 36 ". Advertisement

Method 2 of 4: Copy URL

   Right click inside the video frame. A drop-down menu will appear with a list of available options.

   Click the "Copy video URL at current time" action. The link to a specific time on the video is copied to the clipboard.

   Paste URL. Every time someone clicks on the link, the video will play at the point where you paused and copied the video URL. advertisement

Method 3 of 4: Use the "Share" button

1. 

   Click the "Share" button below the video. The "Share" button is next to the 3-dot symbol, connected to each other in a triangle.

   Enter the desired time. Under the link to the video and the array of different media icons, you'll see a field to the right of the word "Start at". By default, the time in the frame is when you paused the video. However, if you want to make changes, just click in the box and enter the desired time. For example, if you want to share in 2 minutes 30 seconds, enter 2:30 to enter.
   • Click the checkbox to the left of the "Start at" label to automatically attach the URL to the link to the correct time.

   Copy link. Double-click the link to highlight it. Then right-click on the highlighted text and choose "Copy", or click Ctrl+C.

Method 4 of 4: Time linking in YouTube comments

1. Link to a specific time in comments. This only works when you comment on a YouTube video in a place owned by Google like YouTube or Google+. Just add the time according to the format moment. Such as, 2:43 will link to the moment 2 minutes 43 seconds in the video you are commenting.
   • When the comment is posted, the time (2 minutes 43 seconds) in the current video will be automatically linked. The link's label will simply be "2:43". So you can say to someone, "Listen at 2:43 to see what you're talking about." However, this doesn't work for Facebook comments.
