Cartoon characters can be very colorful and detailed, and a lot of fun to draw. Only a few simple steps are required for this. This article is going to show you how to draw cartoon characters.

Method 1 of 4: A boy

1. Draw a horizontal oval for the hair.
2. Draw another smaller overlapping oval for more hair.
3. Overlap with another vertically tilted oval in front of the ear.
4. Draw a small cylinder at the base of the bottom oval.
5. Draw two lines on either side of the cylinder and connect them to the baseline.
6. Draw a square whose roof is flush with the baseline drawn earlier, as the figure's torso.
7. Draw a quadrilateral as the basis for the shorts.
8. Overlap with a quadrilateral on both sides for the sleeves.
9. Draw some irregular rectangles at the bottom for the legs.
10. Draw a diagonal vertical oval on each side for the arms.
11. Hang an overlapping oval from the previously drawn ovals for the hands.
12. Draw two ovals a short distance from the legs as the tips of the shoes.
13. Connect the ovals created above with regular lines to draw the shape of the shoes.
14. Return to the head and draw ovals for the eyes and a guide line for the mouth.

16. Erase all guides.

Method 2 of 4: South Park style

1. Draw an oval for the head.
2. Connect three straight lines at the base, as a torso.
3. Draw a horizontal rectangle for the skirt at the bottom.
4. Draw two parallel lines that touch the torso on each side for the arms.
5. Attach an oval to the open ends of the lines, for the hands.
6. Draw two horizontal ovals spaced from the skirt quadrilateral at the bottom.
7. Return to the head and draw two vertical ovals for the eyes.
8. Just below the pair of ovals, draw a rectangle with tapered sides.
9. Draw small lines above the eyes for the eyebrows and a horizontal inverted "M" for the bow tie with two straight lines hanging down from the center of the "M".
10. Fill in every detail of the drawing.
11. Erase all unnecessary lines.
12. Color the figure.

Method 3 of 4: A nerdy girl

1. Draw a circle and an oblong as guides for the head and torso respectively. Cartoons are often overly drawn in size, and a large head is appropriate.
2. Then outline the position of the cartoon using lines and circles. In this case, the plan was to draw a girl standing and holding a book.
3. Draw the face, nose, eyes and mouth. Try experimenting with the facial expression.
