No matter how careful you are, if you are painting you will most likely get paint stains on your fingers, hands and fingernails. It is a good idea to wipe your hands with a cloth while painting so that the paint does not stick to your hands. Still, no matter what you do to prevent it, paint seems to stick to your fingers and hands. Here are several ways to get that paint off your hands quickly and easily.

Method 1 of 5: Standard paint removers

These are strong and aggressive agents. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to consider one of the other options.

1. If you are unable to remove the spray paint from your hands using the above method, try an abrasive such as salt or sugar along with the baking soda and water mixture. Salt and sugar are both drying agents, which means they strip moisture from your skin. Still, they shouldn't be that bad for your skin in the end.

Method 5 of 5: Hot water and soap

1. Fill a bowl with hot water.
2. Rub the paint on your hands with a bar of soap to create a foam.
3. Dip a toothbrush in the hot water. Scrub it over the paint on your skin.
4. Scrub until the paint is gone. Add more soap every now and then.
5. Rinse your hands. Rub lotion on your hands to soothe your skin and make it soft again.

Tips

• WD-40 works very well, but makes your hands very greasy. Wash your hands with dish soap afterwards, as this has a degreasing effect.
• You can also cover your hands with a layer of liquid soap and let it dry before getting started with spray paint. This also works if you work with stain or grease. If you have a layer of liquid soap on your hands, the paint will not stick to your hands or soak into your skin. You can easily clean your hands afterwards with more soap and water.
• It's a good idea to wear gloves while dyeing.
