In this article, you can read how to repost a photo of another user in Instagram. Reposting in Instagram can be done by first copying a photo or video and then taking a screenshot of it, or by using the app called "Repost for Instagram". Please note that reposting photos and videos of other users without their consent is against Instagram's official user rules.

Method 1 of 2: Repost a screenshot

1. Open Instagram. You can recognize the app by the colorful figure in the shape of a camera. If you have already registered with Instagram, you will automatically end up on the home page.
   • If you haven't signed in yet, enter your username (or your phone number) and your Instagram password and tap Sign Up.
2. Go to the photo you want to repost. You can scroll through the photos in your home page to see the most recent publications, or you can tap the box at the top with the magnifying glass and then type in the name of a particular user to view their page.
3. Take a screenshot. On a smartphone, you usually do this by simultaneously pressing the "Power" and "Home" buttons.
   • Depending on your phone, you may also need to press the "Home" and "Volume Up" buttons instead.
   • If you found the photo on a user's page, first open the publication you want to take a screenshot of by tapping on it.
4. Tap on +. This is the button at the bottom center of the screen.
5. Tap on Library. You can find this option at the bottom left of the screen.
6. Tap to take the screenshot. This is how you select the photo.
7. Crop the screenshot and then tap Next one. To crop the photo, place two fingers on the screen and then spread them apart to zoom in the image. When you are satisfied, tap Next one in the top right corner of the screen.
8. Choose a filter and tap Next one. If you don't want to use a filter, tap immediately Next one.
9. Type a caption. You do this in the "Write a caption ..." field almost at the very top of the screen.
   • This is also a good place to tag the original creator of the photo.
10. Tap on Share to publish the screenshot you took. You can find this button in the top right corner of the screen. The original photo will now be successfully posted to your Instagram page.

Method 2 of 2: Repost using the Repost for Instagram app

1. First, download the Repost for Instagram app. With the help of this app you can quickly and easily share photos and videos on Instagram. More information about this app can be found at http://www.repostapp.com/. You can download the app for:

2. Open Instagram. You can recognize the app by the colorful figure in the shape of a camera. If you are already registered, you will automatically end up on the home page.
   • If you haven't signed in to Instagram yet, enter your username (or phone number) and password and tap Sign Up.
3. Go to the photo you want to repost. You can scroll through the photos in your home page for the most recent publications, or you can tap the magnifying glass at the top and enter the name of a particular user in the corresponding field to land on his or her page.
4. Tap on …. You can find this button in the top right corner of your chosen Instagram post.
5. Tap on Copy sharing URL. You can find this button near the center of the pop-up window.
6. Open Repost. This is a blue and white app with a white arrow rectangle on it.
7. Tap the Instagram post. Immediately after opening Repost you should see the publication of the person whose URL you just copied appear at the top of the page.
8. Tap the post again. This will take you to the repost page.
9. Tap on Repost. This is a blue button at the bottom of the screen.
   • If you want to repost a video, you may need to click on OK Tap to grant Repost access to your photos.
10. Tap on Copy to Instagram or Open Instagram when asked. That way your photo or video will open in Instagram.
    • Sometimes you will be instructed to tap the Instagram icon instead.
11. Prepare your post for publication. This means that you will crop it, choose a filter and type a caption.
    • The Repost for Instagram app automatically tags the original author of the post at the bottom left of the screen. Still, it's best to always tag the author in your caption too.
12. Tap on Share. You can find this button in the top right corner of the screen. The photo or video you copied will now be published on your Instagram page.

Tips

• When sharing other people's photos or videos, don't forget to always include a link to the original poster.

Warnings

• Sharing photos or videos without the permission of the original author is against the official Instagram user rules; if you do and get caught, you run the risk of Instagram blocking your account.
