Via the mobile app it is possible to delete messages and comments from yourself on Facebook. You can delete other people's comments on things you've shared, but you can't delete comments they've posted on posts you haven't created yourself. The procedure to delete messages and comments is almost identical for Android and iPhone.

Part 1 of 3: Delete comments

1. Find the comment you want to delete. You can delete comments you have posted to posts and comments from others to your posts. You cannot delete comments others have posted to posts that you have not created. This procedure is essentially identical for iPhone and Android. Make sure you have the Comments on your post open.
   • If you want to delete multiple posts or comments you have posted, or if you can't find the comment you wanted to delete, go to the last section of this article.
2. Tap and hold the comment you want to delete. This will cause a menu to appear on Android. On an iPhone, the menu will not appear until you release your finger.
   • Try to press the blank space in the comment. Pressing the name will open the responding person's profile instead.
3. Press "Delete". Confirm that you want to delete the comment from Facebook. The comment will be deleted immediately.

Part 2 of 3: Delete messages

1. Find the message you want to delete. You can only delete messages that you have created yourself. This procedure is identical for iPhone and Android. You can quickly access your profile and search for your messages by clicking the More button (☰) and then pressing your profile.
   • If you want to delete multiple posts you have created, or if you can't find the post you wanted to delete, skip to the next section.
2. Press the V button in the top right corner of the message. This will open a new menu.
3. Press "Delete". Confirm that you wish to permanently delete the post from Facebook. The post and all associated comments will be deleted immediately.

Part 3 of 3: Delete multiple comments and posts

1. Open the Activity Log. If you want to delete multiple messages that you have created, you can use the Activity Log for this. This is the fastest way to scan your posts and comments without having to search manually. The procedure is slightly different when using Android or iPhone:
   • Android - Tap the More (☰) button in the top right corner of the Facebook app. Scroll all the way down and press "Activity Log".
   • iPhone - Tap the More (☰) button in the lower right corner of the Facebook app. Scroll down and press "Settings". Select "Activity Log" from the menu.
2. Find a post or comment you want to delete. You will only see the comments and messages that you have made yourself, not the comments that others have posted to your messages.
3. Press the V button next to the post or comment you want to delete. This will open a small menu.
4. Press "Delete" to delete the post or comment. You will be asked to confirm that you want to remove this item from Facebook. Once you confirm, the post or comment will be permanently deleted.
