Talking to a guy you have feelings for can be very intimidating. You may be concerned about how you look, how you sound, and whether or not he is interested. Using eye contact and talking about him will show him that you are interested. Stay confident and true to yourself all the time.

Part 1 of 3: Looking good

1. Wear something that looks good on you. Each person has a few outfits that make them feel better than anything else in their wardrobe; there are outfits that make guys smile wider and walk more upright. Choose one of these to wear when talking to the guy you like. If he can't take his eyes off you, chances are he's interested.
2. Don't overdo it. If you choose your party dress as number one, then rather wear choice number two. Keep your outfit appropriate for the occasion. He'll likely be distracted if you're wearing a bizarre outfit.
3. Be at ease. Doesn't matter if you've outgrown your favorite outfit. Go shopping and buy a new one, or choose something else from your closet. You want to be as comfortable as possible and still look good. This way you won't be constantly fiddling with your clothes while talking to him; you would appear nervous, which could make him uncomfortable.

Part 2 of 3: Talk to him

1. Ask questions. Ask open questions to involve him in the conversation. Talk about absolutely everything you are comfortable with. This will allow him to start talking to you and also allow him to show off some of your interests. Before starting a conversation, keep a few in mind, in case there is a longer silence.
   • "What did you think about last week's game?"
   • "What are your plans for the weekend?"
   • "What did you think of the ending of that new movie?"
2. Show interest. Watch what he has to say. Show an interest in who he is and what he likes. If you bring up something he likes, it's likely he'd like to talk about it more - with you. Don't pretend you like something when you really don't. If you lie, he will probably notice and no boy likes lies.
   • Don't be afraid to disagree with him, but stay open to his opinion too.
3. Be engaging. Do not be a reporter and do not constantly ask questions. Make jokes and laugh at his jokes. Laughing at his jokes, even if they aren't hilarious, will get his attention. If you are happy and smiling, it will be difficult for him not to get lit.
4. Speak to class. Don't swear or gossip about others. If he's talking about something he really likes and cares about, swearing or talking negatively about it, an automatic warning flag would be for him telling him that he really shouldn't be interested in you.

Part 3 of 3: Being yourself

1. Stick to your values. Don't be so focused on impressing him that you start lying about yourself. Don't make up any interests or opinions. Not only does this show him bad ethics, but it will keep haunting you later on. Tell the truth about yourself. If your family, friends, or personal interests are constantly preoccupying you, talk about it. Don't be afraid to talk about what you are good at.
2. Keep eye contact. This is a non-verbal means that is just as important as the things you say. It conveys trust, sincerity and respect. Eye contact connects you with him.
   • You can even flirt with your eyes. Do this by holding eye contact for two or three seconds and then looking away during the beginning of the conversation. It makes him look for your eye contact again. Put this on and off during the time you are talking.
   • You need to know what color eyes he has after the first call.
3. Be self-assured. If you're noticeably nervous, he'll start to feel uncomfortable. Be at ease and proud of your unique and wonderful personality. Show off good attitude and speak clearly. Trudging and mumbling do not come across as attractive.

Tips

• If he's interested, he'll let you know through eye contact and body language. If so, suggest a time to get together.
• Don't analyze everything you say. It will only cause you stress.
• If he doesn't like you, this isn't the end of the world. It just wasn't meant to be. Keep your head up and look for someone else.
• Make sure you have fresh breath and perfume before talking to him.
