Sometimes a view is too big to fit in one photo. How can you properly capture the beautiful landscape you envision in a photo? By showcasing more of it with iPhone's Panorama feature. See Step 1 to learn how to do this using iOS 7, 8 or iOS 6.

Method 1 of 2: iOS 7 and 8

1. Open the Camera app. You can find this on the home screen of your iPhone. You need an iPhone 4S or later for this; panoramic photos cannot be taken with the iPhone 4 and 3GS.
2. Switch to Panorama mode. Scroll your finger to the bottom of the phone until you find "PANO". This is Panorama Mode.You can use the camera on the front and back.
3. Determine the direction. You take a panoramic photo by moving the camera left or right to capture the entire image. By default the camera is set to the right, but by clicking on the arrow you can change this.
4. Take the picture. Tap the shutter button to take the panoramic photo. Slowly move the camera horizontally along the path as indicated on the screen. Keep your phone steady and at the same eye level all the time.
   • You can move all the way to the allowed length or stop the panoramic photo earlier by tapping the shutter again.
   • Don't move too fast to give the iPhone a chance to capture everything. This will prevent the end result from looking blurry.
   • Do not move the phone up and down while taking the panoramic photo. The iPhone will automatically merge edges, but if you deviate too much from the path, too much of the image will be cropped.
5. View the image. After the processing of the footage is finished, the panorama will be added to your Camera Roll. You can share and edit it like any other photo. Tilt the phone to see the full panorama on the screen.

Method 2 of 2: Using iOS 6

1. Open the Camera app. Tap the Camera icon on the Home screen to launch the Camera app. You need an iPhone 4S or later for this; panoramic photos cannot be taken with the iPhone 4 and 3GS
2. Tap the Options button.
3. Tap Panorama. This will activate Panorama Mode, and a slider will appear in your viewfinder.
4. Determine the direction. You take a panoramic photo by moving the camera left or right to capture the entire image. By default the camera is set to the right, but by clicking on the arrow you can change this
5. Start recording. Tap the shutter button to take the panoramic photo.
6. Pan the camera. Move your camera slowly past the subject, making sure that the arrow that appears on the screen stays as close to the center line as possible. When you are done, tap Done.
   • Move as slowly as possible to make sure the image is not blurry.
   • Avoid moving the phone up and down while recording. This ensures that you keep as much of the recording as possible when the iPhone is going to process the image.
7. Preview the image. Now you can save the image in the Camera Roll. Tap preview at the bottom left of the screen to view it.
   • Tilt the phone to see the full panorama on the screen.

Tips

• You can still use focus and exposure when taking a Panorama. Tap the screen to select the area you want to change.
• Keeping your iPhone at the same height and the arrow on the panorama line is essential for a good result.

Warnings

• If you move the camera too fast while taking a Panorama, you will see the message Slow Down. Moving too fast can cause the photo to be blurry and out of focus.
