The expansion "Mists of Pandaria" starts with a small quest in Stormwind City (or in Orgrimmar, for Horde players). After your first visit, a portal to Paw'don Village opens on the northern edge of Stormwind.

To step

Method 1 of 2: Return to Pandaria

1. Select a character who has already visited Pandaria. If you have not been to Pandaria yet, skip to the next section.
   • If your character has changed faction, you will have to redo the quest from Alliance side to open the way to Pandaria.
2. Travel to the island under the hot air balloon. This small island is located on the north side of the city, beyond the wall. A bright red hot air balloon floats above it.
3. Go through the portal next to Aysa Cloudsinger. There is a ground level portal to Paw'don Village, next to a Pandaran "monk trainer" named Aysa Cloudsinger.

Method 2 of 2: Traveling to Pandaria for the first time

1. Reach level 85. You cannot start the quest to travel to Pandaria until you reach level 85. If you are desperate to get there sooner, you can, at any level, ask a "warlock" or "mage" for a portal to it.
2. Enter Stormwind to begin the quest. Once you are at level 85 and have the Mists of Pandaria expansion, you will get the King's Command quest right after entering Stormwind. Delete a quest when your logbook is full and talk to Varian Wrynn in Stormwind Keep, or check out one of the Hero's Call Boards around town.
   • A mistake in the game could prevent players who bought a level 90 boost from getting this quest. You should be able to proceed directly to the next quest "The Mission" described below.
3. Enter Stormwind Keep. A short cutscene starts as soon as you approach the heart of the castle in the center of the citadel. Watch King Varian and the admiralty deliberate on a shipwreck on an uncharted island.
4. Talk to Rell Nightwind to accept The Mission. After the cut scene, your character will face Rell Nightwind. Talk to Rell to accept the next quest "The Mission".
5. Fly to the cannon boat north of Stormwind harbor. Called the huge flying cannon boat Stormfire floats in the air north of the harbor. Fly up to the gunboat on a flying mount, or ask someone with a two-man driver for a lift.
6. Talk to Sky Admiral Rogers. Another cut scene will follow, after which the journey to Pandaria will begin.

Tips

• Place your "hearthstone" in your faction's capital once you are in Pandaria. This city has portals to all other major cities, making it the most useful location for your hearthstone.

Warnings

• Do not try to fly or swim to Pandaria. Your character will die of exhaustion.
