This wikiHow shows you how to jump to a specific year in your message history. This works for both your profile timeline and the activity log on the mobile app.

Method 1 of 2: Mobile

  1. Open the Facebook app. When prompted, enter your username and password and tap Sign Up.
  2. Tap ☰. This is located at the bottom of the menu bar (iPhone) or at the top of the page (Android).
    • On iPad, tap the down arrow in the top right corner next to the profile picture.
  3. Tap Activity Log.
  4. Tap the year you want to jump to. You will be taken directly to a list of all your Facebook activity for that year.
    • You can also jump to a specific month in a year.
    • The activity log only shows your own activity or any Facebook posts you were involved in yourself.
    • Your activity log is visible only to you.

Method 2 of 2: Web

  1. Go to Facebook in your web browser. When prompted, enter your username and password and click Sign Up.
  2. Click on your profile picture. You can click the photo at the top right of the menu bar or in the left sidebar.
  3. Scroll down and click Recent. This will appear in the top left when you scroll down past your profile picture.
  4. Click on the year you want to jump to. This will scroll you directly to the selected year in your timeline.
