Sometimes you are looking for free music to make a CD, but you can not find that one song that you absolutely should. And of course you don't want to bring in viruses or other annoying add-ons with programs like LimeWire. In this article, we'll show you how to get music from YouTube in MP3 format, and then burn it to a CD.

Method 1 of 1: With an external website

1. Make a list of songs you want to put on a CD. Search for the songs on YouTube. You can experiment with creating a playlist in YouTube if you want so that your songs can be found in one place in order.
   • If you want to create a playlist, first search for the song you want in YouTube. At the bottom right of the video, next to the "I like" and "I don't like" buttons, click "Add to", then name the playlist. Add any song you want to put on your CD to the playlist.
2. Go to an external website that allows you to download from YouTube for free. Just keep in mind that what you are about to do may violate certain copyrights and you may violate YouTube's terms and conditions.
   • Some reliable websites to download music from YouTube are: http://www.url-to-mp3.com/ or http://www.tubeleecher.com/. In this example we will use the first website: url-to-mp3.
3. Copy and paste the address of the YouTube video into the white box on the external website.
   • The URL (short for "uniform resource locator") is the string of letters and numbers in your browser's address bar, usually starting with "www".
   • To copy and paste, press "⌘ + C" on a Mac. On a PC, press "Ctrl + C".
4. Press the gray button that says "youtube-url-to-mp3".
5. Download the file when the new link appears. Save the file somewhere you can remember and give it a meaningful name.
6. Repeat these steps for each song you want to burn to your CD.
7. Open iTunes or another media player.
8. Create a playlist on iTunes. Put all downloaded music files into one playlist.
9. Place an empty CD-R in the CD tray of your computer.
10. Click on your playlist in iTunes. Press File> Burn Playlist to Disc.

Tips

• The quality of the downloaded music will not be as good as the quality of your other music.
