Do you want to transfer the music collection from Windows Media Player to your iOS device? The easiest way to do that is with iTunes, but then you will need to add all your music to the iTunes library first. You don't have to move files, but you will need to know where all the music is stored on your computer.

To step

1. Find the location where the music from Windows Media Player is stored. Windows Media Player loads music files from your computer. To load this song into iTunes, you just need to know the location of all your music files.
   • Open Windows Media Player.
   • Click File → Manage libraries → Music. If you don't see the menu bar, press the Alt-test.
   • Note all the locations of the folders where Windows Media Player looks for music files. These are folders that contain all of the Windows Media Player music files.
2. You can also merge all your music files. If you have a load of folders in your Windows Media Player library, you may find it easier to move all the files to iTunes if you store them in a central location. iTunes will search all sub-folders, so it will combine all of your music into a single one Musicfolder does not prevent you from using its subfolders to organize your music.
3. Open iTunes. Once you know where your music files are stored, you can import them into the iTunes library.
4. Click on the menu File. If you don't see the menu bar, press the key Alt.
5. Select Add folder to library. This will open a window that allows you to search your computer.
6. Select the folder you want to add. To do this, use the notes you made about the locations of your music folders and navigate to the first. You can select a default folder after which all subdirectories will be added automatically. You can even choose the hard drive (C: , D: , etc.) and all the music files it finds will be added.
   • Adding your entire disc will add audio files and music from programs you don't want in iTunes.
7. Repeat for all additional folders. If you've merged all your music into a main folder, then you just need to add that one. If your music is everywhere and nowhere on your computer, then you will have to add whatever folder you want to be included in the library.
8. Convert protected WMA files. You cannot add protected WMA files to your iTunes library. These are Windows Media Player files with copy protection. To be able to add these files, you will first have to remove the protection. See wikiHow for detailed instructions.
