Minecraft PE is a great game, but mods can turn it into a completely different experience. Installing mods for the Pocket Edition of Minecraft is a bit trickier than the PC version, but the procedure has become a lot easier with the release of some powerful modding tools for both the Android and iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) . A warning is needed if you want to use it on an iOS: you will have to jailbreak the system first to install mods.

To step

Method 1 of 2: iOS (jailbroken only)

1. Jailbreak your device. Your iOS device MUST have been jailbroken to install the mods for Minecraft PE. There is no other way to install mods on Apple devices.
   • Check wikiHow for instructions on how to jailbreak your device. The instructions work for iPods, iPhones and iPads.
2. Download and install iFile. This app is only available for modified (jailbroken) iOS devices and can be downloaded from the Cydia store.
3. Go to the SharedRoutine website to download ModLoader. Once you have installed iFile, you are ready to install ModLoader. Visit sharedroutine.com/mcpe/modloader/ with your device and scroll to the "Downloads" section.
4. Tap "here" at the top of the Downloads section. This will open the download page for ModLoader.
5. Tap "Open in iFile". This will start your iFile.
6. Tap on "Installer". This will install ModLoader. If you don't see this option, tap the file com.sharedroutine.mcloader.deb and then "Installer".
7. Go back to SharedRoutine and download any mods you want. There is a small selection of mods available there from the SharedRoutine website for you to use.Download and install it in the same way as with ModLoader.
8. Download additional mods from Cydia. There are tons of different mods available through Cydia and most of them work with ModLoader. As long as the file contains a .the B is, you can download and install it using iFile.
   • The mod must be designed to run under ModLoader. Most popular mods are built for this.
9. Open Minecraft PE and tap the new "MCPE Mod Menu" button. You can drag this button so you can place it somewhere more convenient.
10. Adjust the mod settings. The settings for each of the installed mods are shown in the mod menu. Depending on the mod, you can drag the sliders to adjust the effects, or turn the mods ON or OFF.

Method 2 of 2: Android

1. Download and install BlockLauncher. This is a free mod file management app for Minecraft PE. It is one of the few reliable ways to install mods on the Pocket Edition of Minecraft. Another launcher app is PocketTool, which uses much the same procedure.
   • BlockLauncher can be found in the Google Play Store.
   • BlockLauncher only works with the Google Play Store version of Minecraft PE.
   • Note that BlockLauncher will not work on Android devices with an Intel Atom chip. This mainly applies to a number of Vexia and ASUS tablets and phones. The full list of Android devices with Intel chips can be found here.
2. Find the mod you want to download. There are many mods available for the Android version of Minecraft PE. You can find them on a number of different mod and fan websites. Minecraft PE mods have a link to a .js file, which is the mod code, and also a link to a .zip file for the textures.
   • You can only use mods specifically for the Pocket Edition of Minecraft and suitable for the version of Minecraft PE you have.
   • You cannot use mods developed for the PC or Mac versions of Minecraft.
3. Download the necessary files. Tap on each of the download links to download the mod files for your Android. Most files are small and should be downloaded in seconds.
4. Use BlockLauncher to load a texture file. If you haven't downloaded a texture file, you can skip the next step. Loading the texture files requires BlockLauncher Pro.
   • Start BlockLauncher. This will load Minecraft PE via BlockLauncher.
   • Tap the BlockLauncher Settings button. You can find this at the top of the screen after starting BlockLauncher.
   • Select "Launcher Options (requires a restart)".
   • Tap "Texture Pack" and then "Select".
   • Open the "Downloads" folder and select it .zip file you downloaded.
5. Use BlockLauncher to load the mod file. Launch BlockLauncher and tap the BlockLauncher Settings button.
   • Select "Manage ModPE Scripts".
   • Tap "Import" and then select "Local storage".
   • Open the Downloads folder and tap it .js file you downloaded.
6. Activate the mods. During the game, you can activate and deactivate the installed mods via the BlockLauncher settings menu. Tap the mod you want to enable / disable and then select "Enable" or "Disable".
