Method 1 of 5: Download from SoundCloud

1. Open Add the SoundCloud Downloader extension. With this free extension you can download music from SoundCloud:
   • Open the SoundCloud Downloader page.
   • click on Add to Chrome.
   • click on Add extension when indicated.
2. Open SoundCloud. Go to https://soundcloud.com/ in Google Chrome.
3. Search for a song. Click the search bar at the top of the SoundCloud home page, type the name of the song you want to download and press↵ Enter.
   • You can also enter the name of an artist (or an album) or search for a genre here.
4. Find a song to download. Scroll down until you find the song you want to add to your MP3 player.
5. click on To download. It's below the song title and sound wave bar. The song will then be downloaded to your computer.
   • You may need to confirm the download or select a save location before the file is downloaded.

Method 2 of 5: Download from YouTube

1. Install the program "4K Video Downloader" on your computer. 4K Video Downloader is a free program for Windows and Mac computers - you can use it to download audio versions of all YouTube videos, including videos with music. To install it, do the following:
   • Windows - Go to https://www.4kdownload.com/products/product-videodownloader, click Get 4K Video Downloader, after downloading, double click the installation file, click Yes, and follow the installation instructions on the screen.
   • Mac - Go to https://www.4kdownload.com/products/product-videodownloader, click Get 4K Video Downloader, after downloading, double-click the installation file, confirm the installation if necessary, click and drag the 4K Video Downloader icon into the "Applications" folder, and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. Open YouTube. Go to https://www.youtube.com/ in your computer's web browser. The YouTube homepage opens.
3. Search for a song. Click the search bar at the top of the YouTube page, then type the name of the song you want to download and press ↵ Enter.
4. Select a video. Click on the video that contains the audio you want to save. This will open the video.
5. Copy the address of the video. Select the full address in the browser's address bar at the top of the window, then press Ctrl+C. (Windows) or ⌘ Command+C. (Mac).
6. Open 4K Video Downloader. Click on double click on the green and white icon of 4K Video Downloader to open the program.
   • On a Mac, you'll find the 4K Video Downloader icon in the Applications folder.
7. click on Paste Link. This option is in the top left corner of the window.Your copied link will be pasted and 4K Video Downloader will start searching for your video.
8. Choose Audio as the download category. Click the "Download Video" check box in the top left corner of the window and then click "Extract audio in the resulting drop-down menu.
9. Choose a quality. Click the check box next to a quality (eg, "High Quality") in the center of the page.
10. Choose a download location. Click at the bottom right of the window Leaves, then select the folder where you want to save your downloaded MP3 and click Save.
    • Click on this on a Mac ⋯ instead of Leaves.
    • In most cases you will want to choose something that is easily accessible (for example the "Desktop").

1. Open Audio Archive. Go to https://archive.org/details/audio in your computer's web browser.
2. Click on the search bar. It's on the left side of the page.
3. Search for music. Type in a song or artist name and then press ↵ Enter.
4. Choose a song to download. Click on the name of a song you want to download to open the page.
5. Scroll down to the "Download Options" heading. This is on the far right of the page.
6. Click on the option VBR MP3. This can be found in the group "Download Options". This will download the song to your computer as an MP3 file.
   • You may need to confirm the download or select a save location before the file is downloaded.

Method 4 of 5: Using Music Streaming Apps

1. Understand when to use a music streaming app. Streaming apps such as Spotify and Pandora are available on smartphones and tablets, such as the iPhone, iPad and Android.
   • If you have a traditional MP3 player instead of a smartphone or iPod Touch then you should use one of the above methods.
2. Download a music streaming app. Common streaming apps are Spotify and Pandora, but you can use any free streaming app on your smartphone's app store. Once you've opted for a streaming app, download it:
   • iPhone - Open the Open the app. Tap on To open in the App Store or Play Store, or tap your app icon on the home screen.

Method 5 of 5: Add music to an MP3 player

1. Make sure you have the correct type of MP3 player. You can add music to a traditional MP3 player on both Windows and Mac computers.
   • If you want to add music to an iOS device such as iPhone or iPod, you need to put the music in iTunes on your computer and then sync your iOS device with iTunes.
   • If you want to add music to an Android smartphone or tablet, you must use Google Play Music or a USB cable.
   • If you're using a Windows computer with Windows Media Player, you can add your music through Windows Media Player instead (this doesn't work for Apple devices like iPhone).
2. Copy the music you want to add. Select the music by dragging the mouse over it and then press Ctrl+C. (Windows) or ⌘ Command+C. (Mac).
3. Connect the MP3 player to your computer. Connect the plug of the MP3 player's USB cable to your computer, then plug the other plug into your MP3 player.
   • If you are using a computer with USB-C ports instead of USB 3.0 ports, you must first purchase a USB 3.0 to USB-C adapter and connect it to your computer.
4. Open the folder of your MP3 player. This process depends on your computer:
   • Windows - Open Go to the "Music" folder. Depending on your MP3 player, you can find this folder in the original folder of the MP3 player or open the "Internal" or "Storage" folder first.
     • You may need to open a "Music Storage" folder instead.
     • You know you have the right folder when you find one that contains all the music files from your MP3 player.

     • It may take a few minutes for your music to finish copying to the "Music" folder.
   • Eject your MP3 player and remove the device. Ejecting your MP3 player before removing it from the computer will help prevent accidental damage to files on the player:
     • Windows - Click on in the lower-right corner of the screen, right-click the flash drive icon and click Eject.
     • Mac - Click the "Eject" button to the right of the MP3 player name in Finder.

Tips

• MP3 players can often play more than just MP3 files. For example, many MP3 players can play WAV, AAC or M4A files in addition to MP3 files.
• You can convert most audio files into MP3 files.
