Whether you're dressing up for a party, or always wanting to look like a vampire, getting a vampire look can be something of an art form. It is certainly a classy look and you can have a ton of fun with it at a dress up party or as a daily style. Do give yourself some extra time in the morning if you plan to do this every day!

Method 1 of 4: Make up your face like a vampire

1. Make sure you have pale skin. Vampires are undead, as they say, and only come out at night. This means that their skin is usually paler in hue than average. For a paler complexion, you can apply foundation that is lighter than your own skin. Use a foundation that is one or two shades lighter than your skin.
   • Foundation usually comes in a variety of thicknesses and styles, including powder and cream. For the vampire style, use thicker foundation.
   • Apply the foundation to the center of your face and work your way up to your jawline from there. Work with your fingers or a brush, depending on the foundation you are using.
   • If you have a dark complexion, don't worry! Vampires can all have different skin colors. However, remember that you are supposed to stay out of the sun, so try not to look like you were in the sun.
2. Use dark eyeliner. Vampires look dramatic and nocturnal. They can be hundreds of years old. You want to look like you've seen things that no one else could ever have seen. To do this, use dark eyeliner and shadow for the right effect.
   • Apply some eyeliner and a small amount of dark purple eyeshadow with black mascara. This will help make your eyes pop a little more for a dramatic look.
   • Light red eyeshadow around the eyes is good too. This gives an undead or bloody look.
   • Use dark eyeshadow on the top of your eyes and lighter eyeshadow under your eyes for a more dramatic look.
3. Make your lips blood red. The lips are usually the most vibrant part of vampire makeup. Depending on your complexion and the intended effect, use something between bright red and blood red.
   • Choose a matte color as a base. If desired, use lip gloss instead of lipstick.

Method 2 of 4: Dress like a vampire on a daily basis

1. Wear dark clothes. Vampire clothing is usually dark in color. When you look in your closet, don't choose things with bright, shiny or pastel colors. Instead, choose things that are solid and dark in color. You want to be a creature of the night, not a fashion doll.
   • Avoid flashy brand names and shirts with busy prints. A black T-shirt and black jeans are a great everyday outfit for today's vampire.
   • You don't just have to wear black. A little color can work as well. Dark purple and navy blue are just as suitable as black.
2. Dress up. Another vampire look is the old formal Victorian style. Dress as if you were going out for a night on the town. Wearing eye-catching, dark-hued clothing that looks old-fashioned can go with the undead clothing.
   • For women, a beautiful black skirt, black or red top with puff sleeves, as well as a corset top and black dress, is great for a vampire style.
   • For men, a dark jacket or overcoat with antique-looking buttons is suitable. Wear dark pants with a white shirt for the perfect vampire style.
3. Make sure you also have some "everyday" vampire clothes. You probably don't want to dress like you have to go to a funeral every day. Black skinny jeans with a red, purple or black top create a more comfortable and contemporary vampire look.
   • For girls, black skirts with ruby-embellished designs look great, but don't choose clothes that are "vampire clothes" on sale. Wearing a Twilight print T-shirt doesn't make you look like a vampire, just like a fan.
4. Wear the right shoes. Generally, vampires don't walk around in tennis shoes or sneakers. Put on the right kind of formal shoes for the right look.
   • For boys, heavy shoes are always the best choice. You can wear dark leather shoes or big black work shoes for the right look. Doc Martens will work fine.
   • Girls wear dark and chic shoes. Pointed shoes without a heel or small heels are a good fit, as well as black Doc Martens.
5. Dress practically. Just because you want to look like a vampire doesn't mean you don't have to factor in the weather and your school's dress code. It would be impractical to dress as if you were going to a ball in the 18th century, when it's 32 degrees outside.
   • Vampires usually wear long velvet cloaks in black or red, or a leather jacket or black heavy raincoat in cold weather.
   • When it's hot you will probably need to take it easy with the heavy make-up and thick layers of clothing, but try to wear black clothes and stay indoors (keep in mind your health).
6. Use some vampire accessories. A few old accessories can make a vampire look believable and make you look like you've been roaming the back alleys of London since the 1700s. Go to swap shows, flea markets, and antique stores for cheap old accessories. Try to find the following items:
   • Pocket watches
   • Walking sticks
   • Antique brooches or pins
   • Old chains
   • Silver bangles or bracelets
   • Amulets

Method 3 of 4: Wear a vampire costume

1. Wear vampire fangs. Vampire fangs are the trademark of a vampire. If you are going to dress up as a vampire and you want people to immediately understand what to represent, then vampire fangs are the way to go. If you wear vampire fangs, look for little ones that don't look fake. Plastic vampire fangs from the gumball machine in the supermarket just look weird.
   • Dental caps are much easier to speak with than a full mouthpiece, and they look more natural.
   • You can also make vampire fangs with acrylic, pieces of straw, or even pieces of a fork (be careful though).
   • Put on lipstick after applying the teeth to keep it from turning into a mess.
2. Wear a cloak. The coat should be in a dark color or red if you want to stand out. A cloak is another very recognizable part of the vampire style. You can make your own robe from fabric or curtain, or buy one from a party store.
3. Put on elegant clothes. If you really want to take your costume to the next level, wear elegant clothes from a bygone era. For men, the perfect suit is a pleated tuxedo shirt with black pants and black shoes. You can even wear a cummerbund if it appeals to you. For women, an elegant top and a long, flowing skirt will complement your teeth and coat perfectly. Don't forget to wear dark colors.
4. Consider makeup. Use eyeshadow to darken your eyes and white face paint to make your face look paler, to add a huge boost to your vampire costume. You can also paint your nails purple or red. Whether you are male or female - this will give you an even spookier look.
5. Wear contact lenses. A vampire's eyes are supposed to hypnotize others, so it's good to give your eyes a little extra. Shimmery or shiny contact lenses can be a nice addition to a vampire costume. Be as creative as you want and explore different colors and options.
   • Gold colored contact lenses give you the look of a Twilight vampire. If you want to take it a bit more extreme, try blood red, black, or even "cat eyes."
   • Be as unusual and creative as you want to be.
   • Many vampires wear sunglasses during the day so the bright sunlight doesn't hurt their eyes.

Method 4 of 4: Style your hair like a vampire

1. Darken your hair. Black hair is usually the best color for vampires. It creates a dramatic look that contrasts with a pale face. Think of dyeing your hair dark, or making it completely pitch black.
   • In some cases, a strand of white, purple or red in your hair can be a great accent for a vampire style. Darken your hair with a single colored strand of hair, as if you were once terribly shocked by something.
   • Blondes and redheads of any style and hair color can look good as a vampire. Any color will work as long as it suits your complexion.
2. Straighten your hair. Vampire hair is usually straight, straight and with a dramatic look. Use a straightener after your hair has been washed and dried if you have curls to get straight hair looking.
   • All kinds of hairstyles can look like vampire hair, although a mysterious, full-bodied haircut gives the best effect on women. Loose curls or waves can give a sultry, mysterious look, depending on what you're going for.

4. Take good care of your hair. Vampires are elegant creatures, proud of their looks and style. Whatever style you choose for your hair, keep it well cut, free from split ends and in a shiny, healthy condition.
   • Wash your hair regularly and get your hair cut at least every few weeks.

Tips

• Not all vampires have to stay indoors, because there are things like "daylight rings".
• Regardless of the occasion, make sure you are always well dressed.
• You can also put fake blood on your face!
