Eevee is one of the few Pokémon that has kept getting new evolutions as more Pokémon games came out. There are now eight different "Eevolutions" available: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon and Sylveon. Which evolutions are available to you depends on the game you are playing. Evolving Eevee into one of its evolutions gives him significant stat bonuses and allows him to learn new techniques.

Part 1 of 4: Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon

1. Choose which Elemental Pokémon you want to evolve Eevee into. Eevee can transform into Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon when given a Water, Thunder, or Fire Stone. As soon as you give the Eevee one of these stones, it will soon evolve into the shape that has a connection with the stone in question.
   • These evolutions are available in every Pokémon game and are the only evolutions available in Blue, Red, and Yellow.
2. Find the stone you need. The locations of the stones and the methods you use to acquire them depend on which version of Pokémon you are playing. They may be easiest to find in the original games, as you only need to buy them here.
   • Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow - You can buy the bricks in the Celadon Department Store.
   • Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald - You can trade Shards for the stones with the Diving Treasure Hunter. In addition, you can find a Water Stone in the Abandoned Ship, a Thunder Stone in New Mauville and a Fire Stone along the Fiery Path.
   • Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum - You can find the stones by mining for them in the Underground. In Platinum they can also be found in the Solaceon Ruins.
   • Pokémon Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 - You can find the stones in caves in Dust Clouds and also in certain shops (which shops these are depends on the game version you are playing).
   • Pokémon X and Y - You can buy the stones at the Stone Emporium in Lumiose City, earn them through Secret Super Training, or win them by beating Inver on Route 18. You can also find Fire Stones and Water Stones on Route 9 and Thunder Stones on Route 10 and 11.
3. Use the stone. Once you have the stone you want, you must give it to your Eevee. The evolution will start immediately and shortly afterwards you will have your new Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon.The evolution cannot be reversed and can be performed on any level.
   • Running the evolution will consume the stone.

Part 2 of 4: Espeon and Umbreon

1. Evolve Eevee into an Espeon or Umbreon, depending on when you level it up. In order to obtain any of the two evolutions, your Eevee will need to have a high-level friendship relationship with the trainer. Friendship level must be 220 or higher.
   • You can only evolve Eevee into Umbreon or Espeon in Generation 2 games and later. This is because time is not a factor in the original games, or FireRed or LeafGreen.
2. Strengthen your friendship with Eevee. Throwing in Eevee often and keeping him on your team will strengthen your bond of friendship and allow him to evolve. You can also do special things to increase the friendship level faster. Letting him hold a Soothe Bell will increase the friendship bonus.
   • By taking care of your Eevee, you get a big friendship bonus.
   • Every time you level up Eevee it gets a nice bonus.
   • Every 512 steps (Gen II), 256 steps (Gen III and IV) or 128 steps (Gen V and VI) you get a small friendship bonus. Note that in Generation V and VI, the chance of getting a Friendship Bonus is 50%.
   • If you pass out Eevee, his friendship will drop one point. Using Revival Herb, Energy Root, Energy Powder or Heal Powder will really cool your friendship.
3. Check your friendship level. In every game there are many NPCs that can give you a rough estimate of this. When you talk to them, depending on their friendship level, they will say a certain phrase.
   • In Kanto (FireRed and LeafGreen) there is Daisy Oak in Pallet Town. In Johto there is a woman in one of the houses in Goldenrod City, in Hoenn there is a woman in Verdanturf Town and a man in Pacifidlog Town, and in Sinnoh there is a woman in the Pokémon Fan Club in Hearthome, an Aroma Lady in the Pokémon Center in Eterna City and Dr. Footstep on Route 213, also a Friendship Checker Pokétech app. In Unova, there is a woman in the Pokémon fan club in Icirrus City and a woman in Nacrene City. In B&W 2 you can also call Bianca with the Xtransceiver. In Kalos there is a woman in Santalune City and someone in the fan club in Laverre City.
4. Level up Eevee at the right time to get that evolution you want. The evolution will be different depending on whether it is day or night. You can level up during battle or using a Rare Candy.
   • Level up your Eevee during the day (4 AM to 6 PM) to evolve it into Espeon.
   • Level up your Eevee at night (6:00 PM to 4:00 AM) to evolve it into Umbreon.

Part 3 of 4: Leafeon and Glaceon

1. Eevee evolve into Leafeon or Glaceon by leveling up near the correct Rock. In Generation 4 (Diamond, Pearl and Platinum) and later generations, you can find Moss Rocks (Leafeon) and Ice Rocks (Glaceon) in certain places in the game world. While in the same area as one of these rocks, level up your Eevee to start evolution.
   • The evolutions caused by the Moss and Ice Rock will replace any other evolution that your Pokémon might qualify for, such as Umbreon or Espeon.
   • These Rocks are objects on the game's world map. They cannot be picked up or bought. You just need to be in the same area where the Rock is located; it does not have to be visible on the screen. The location of the Rock depends on the game version you are playing.
2. Find a Moss Rock. The Moss Rock will evolve your Eevee into a Leafeon. There is one Moss Rock in every game it can be found in.
   • Diamond, Pearl and Platinum - The Moss Rock is in Eterna Forest. You can start evolution anywhere in this forest, except the Old Chateau.
   • Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 - You can find the Moss Rock in Pinwheel Forest. You can start evolution anywhere in this forest.
   • X and Y - The Moss Rock is on Route 20. You can start evolution anywhere on this Route.
3. Find an Ice Rock. The Ice Rock will evolve your Eevee into a Glaceon. There is one Ice Rock in every game where it can be found.
   • Diamond, Pearl and Platinum - You can find the Ice Rock near Snowpoint City, on Route 217. You can start evolution anywhere near this rock.
   • Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 - The Ice Rock is located on the bottom level of Twist Mountain, west of Icirrus City. You must be in the same room as the Ice Rock for the transformation to start.
   • X and Y - The Ice Rock is located in Frost Cavern, north of Dendemille Town. To get to the Rock to evolve Eevee you need Surf.
4. Level up Eevee. To start the evolution you will need to level up Eevee. You can do this through combat or by using a Rare Candy. Evolution will start automatically when you are near the Rock.

Part 4 of 4: Sylveon

1. Teach Eevee a Fairy-type technique. To get Sylveon, you must first make sure your Eevee has learned a Fairy-type technique. As you level up Eevee you will learn a number of techniques; Baby-Doll Eyes at Level 9 and Charm at Level 29. Eevee will need to know one of the two techniques before it can be evolved.
2. Play the Pokémon-Amie mini game. In Generation 6 (X and Y) you can play with your Pokémon, increasing its Affection for you. Increasing Affection affects a number of different attributes and stats. In addition, it enables special evolutions. Increasing Eevee's Affection to two Hearts will allow him to become Sylveon.
   • Affection and Friendship are "stats" unrelated to each other.
3. Feed your Eevee Poké Puffs. In the Pokémon-Amie mini-game, by feeding your Eevee Poké Puffs, you will increase its Affection level. The more luxurious the Puff, the more Affection you will get.
4. Massage your Eevee and give it a high five. By handling your Pokémon properly, you will increase your Affection level. You can give a high five by holding your pen in one place for a moment. The Eevee will lift its paw, then you can touch it to increase the Affection.
5. Level up Eevee. Once you have a Fairy-type technique and 2 Affection hearts, you can evolve Eevee into Sylveon. To start the evolution you will need to level up Eevee. You can by means of level up a fight, or by using a Rare Candy.
   • Be careful not to level up the Pokémon in the same area where a Moss or Ice Rock is located, as these have priority and you will end up with the wrong evolution in your stomach.
