Once the tuxedo of the ancient Greeks, now a favorite outfit for club parties. Read the article below to learn different ways to put on a toga without sewing.

To step

Method 1 of 5: The classic unisex method of putting on a toga from behind

  1. Put some way over your shoulder. Keep the sheet behind you. Grab one end of your sheet and place it over your left shoulder (back to front) so that the end of the sheet is up to your waist.
  2. Wrap your back. Take the long piece of the sheet and wrap it around your back, under your right arm, and along your chest.
  3. Throw it over your shoulder. Toss the long end of your sheet from under your right arm, along your chest and over your left shoulder where the other end of your sheet is.
    • Now is the time to adjust the length of your toga. Fold or pack your sheet together until it falls on your legs the way you want it. You may have to try a few times until you really like it.
  4. Adjust and tighten. Now try to lay the layers and folds properly. When you are satisfied you can fasten your folded toga.

Method 2 of 5: The classic unisex method of putting on a toga around the chest

  1. Put some way over your shoulder. Hold the sheet in front of you. Grab one end of your sheet and place a piece of it, front to back, over your left shoulder. The stretch over your shoulder should fall down to your butt.
  2. Capsize. Take the long piece of your sheet and wrap it diagonally across your chest and under your right arm. Then you pass it behind your back, under your left arm and then along your chest.
  3. Plug in. Tuck the long end of your sheet that goes under your left arm into the piece that already goes over your chest. At this moment you can adjust the length of your toga. Fold or pack your sheet together until it falls on your legs the way you want it. You may have to try a few times until you really like it.
  4. Adjust and tighten. Now try to lay the layers and folds properly. When you are satisfied you can fasten your folded toga.

Method 3 of 5: The strapless variation for women

  1. Fold to get the length right. Hold the sheet horizontally in front of you while standing. Fold the sheet widthwise until it is the correct length. It should reach from your armpits to your legs. How much, or little, you want to have your legs covered depends on what you want.
  2. Beat around the chest. Holding the folded sheet behind your back, wrap one side along your chest first, then the other side as you would with a towel.
  3. Adjust and tighten. Now try to lay the layers and folds properly. When you are satisfied you can fasten your folded toga.
  4. Add a belt. Tie a belt or string just below your bosom. This keeps the gown in place and ensures an elegant waist.

Method 4 of 5: The dumbbell variation for women

  1. Fold to get the length right. Hold the sheet horizontally in front of you while standing. Fold the sheet widthwise until it is the correct length. It should reach from your armpits to your legs. How much, or little, you want to have your legs covered depends on what you want.
  2. Beat around the chest. While holding the folded sheet in front of you, fold one side back first and then the other. As you would with a towel. Let about 3 to 4 feet (0.9 to 1.2 m) hang from one corner in front of your body.
  3. Make a dumbbell. Turn the 1.2 m piece a few times to make it into a kind of rope. Place this twisted sheet over your shoulder and behind your neck. Tie the end of the twisted piece to the piece that goes along your chest.
  4. Adjust and tighten. Now try to lay the layers and folds properly. When you are satisfied you can fasten the toga. Make sure to fasten the barbell well.
  5. Add some accessories. While this is completely optional, it does make it more fun. For example, you can tie a belt or rope under the bust or around your natural waist.

Method 5 of 5: Unisex gown inspired by the saree

  1. Fold to get the length right. Hold the sheet horizontally in front of you while standing. Fold the sheet widthwise until it is the correct length. It should fall from your waist to the floor.
  2. Tie the first end around your waist. Keeping the folded sheet behind your waist, wrap a piece of your sheet around your waist so that you get a skirt. Fold this little piece of sheet behind your back.
  3. Skip the second end in front of you. While still holding the sheet behind your back, pass the longer end in front of you. Tie the top part of the two parts at your waist, whipping the longer part in front of you.
  4. Keep turning. Continue to wrap the longer piece. All the way around your body, in front of your waist, under your arm and along your back. Then go back to the front under your arm.
  5. Put it over your shoulder. When the weather is in front of you, wrap the longer end across your chest and across your shoulder. The end will fall over your shoulder and hang onto your back.

Tips

  • Wear underwear. You can wear a traditional tunic if you have one. But at least wear something under your toga. Men can wear a white T-shirt. Women a top or strapless bra. Both men and women should wear underpants. These underwear are useful for attaching your toga to when it's finished and to make sure nothing is visible should the toga fall off.
  • If you don't have to walk around a lot, you can just fold the sides.
