Many people immediately think of a bow when they see a ribbon. There are several ways you can make a bow from a ribbon, depending on what the bow is for. For example, you can make a bow for a hair accessory, wrapping a gift, a craft project or a homemade item of clothing.

Part 1 of 6: Making a simple bow

1. Cut a piece of ribbon. Make sure it is long enough to make a bow. Always cut some more ribbon so that you can shape the bow and the ends of the bow are long enough.

• If you want to glue down a piece of ribbon, try the glue on an inconspicuous area first and let it dry. If you can see the dried glue through the ribbon, use a different glue or make the bow so that the glue is hidden.
• You can use a ribbon bow device to help you if you don't like making the bow yourself. An alternative is to buy ready-made bows on the Internet or at a hobby store.
