What could be better than good food with friends in the garden when the weather is nice? If you have a nice table to sit at, you will be much more likely to invite people for a summer barbecue or for a light lunch on Saturday afternoon. In this article you will find the steps to make a sturdy and functional picnic table yourself. Bring on that summer!

1. Place the table in a shady spot and enjoy.

Tips

• Use wood that won't rot and can withstand the elements, or use a synthetic material if you really want to last.
• If you use bolts and screws instead of nails, the end result will be stronger.

Warnings

• Do not inhale sawdust from wood that has been pre-treated in a pressure plant.
• Wear safety glasses when using a circular saw and hammer.
• Never build anything that children can touch from wood treated with CCA. The preservative CCA may no longer be used in the Netherlands, but wood preserved with CCA is indeed permitted in the Netherlands. This wood is labeled with the text "For professional and industrial applications only".
