If you've just started crocheting, the idea of making a whole hat can overwhelm you. But with a few simple directions and some time, you can show off a brand new hat for you or a friend.

Method 1 of 2: Preparation
Finish the hat. To finish your hat, do a few extra rounds with just single crochets. This way you make your hat longer and not just wider. Start with rounds of fasting when you have reached the circumference you originally envisioned. To complete your hat, pull the thread through your last stitch and work up the loose end by threading it back into the work with your crochet hook.

- Do a practice round before making a hat that you want to wear or give away.

- Crochet hook size I or 5.5 cm thick
- Quadruple twisted yarn
