Method 1 of 2: Standard method

1. Find the app you want to remove. You don't have to open it; as long as you know where the app icon is located.
2. Press the icon with your thumb and hold it in place for a few seconds. All apps on your iPhone should now start moving and there should be a small "X" next to the apps you can delete.
   • If you don't see an X, scroll down a bit to try our alternative method.
3. Click on the "X" to remove the app. A pop-up will now appear asking if you are sure you want to delete the app.
   • Select "Delete" if you are sure you want to delete the app and all data in the app.
4. Press the home button. When you're done deleting apps, it's best to press the home button on your phone. The icons of the apps will now stop moving and so you can use the applications again.
5. Delete the app from your iTunes. If you don't do this, the app may be put back on your phone when you connect the device to your computer. You can also set iTunes not to reinstall apps on your phone if you've manually removed them.
   • You cannot delete apps that are installed on the iPhone by default, but you can move them. To do this, keep your finger on the app again until it starts to move. Now you can drag the icon in all directions.

Method 2 of 2: Alternative method

1. Open the settings of your iPhone. Press "General".
2. Click on "Restrictions" and enter your pin code if necessary.
   • If you have forgotten your PIN, you will unfortunately not be able to adjust your settings.
3. Scroll to Allowed Content and then to Delete Apps. Now turn this function on instead of off.
4. Return to the main screen and apply the standard method. You will now be able to simply delete apps. To do this, keep your finger pressed on the icon of an app for a few seconds until it starts to move. Then press X and delete the app.

Tips

• If you delete an app by pressing the X button, you can download it again by pressing "Download from Cloud". The button to do this can be found in the place of the buy button in the App Store.
• You cannot delete apps that do not move when you press and hold one of the icons for a few seconds. If you still want to do this, you will have to jailbreak your iPhone.
• If you delete an app, all data stored in the app will also be deleted.
