Building a house from popsicle sticks is a fun, easy way to pass the time. You can build your masterpiece in a million different ways, but we've researched it and found that the best way to start is to make four squares with popsicle sticks glued to act as walls. When you have done that you can build the roof by making two triangles with sticks glued on them, as if they were battens. After that comes the best part, which is decorating the house however you want.

1. Gather your supplies. You will need about 100 popsicle sticks. You can buy popsicle sticks at a hobby store or a department store with a section for hobby and craft supplies. You also need glue. A hot glue gun works best, but children should only use this under adult supervision. Also make sure you have paper, scissors and a utility knife.
   • If you don't want to use hot glue, you can use a regular bottle of hobby glue.
   • Always be careful when using a hot glue gun as it can burn you.
2. Decorate the house. When it comes to decorating the house, the possibilities are endless. Use spray paint to paint the entire house in one color. Paint the walls one color and the roof another color with a small paintbrush. Stick fabric or gift wrap on the walls to give them a pattern. You can glue moss, flowers and twigs on the house to make it a forest house.

Tips

• This type of popsicle stick house is primarily for decoration. It probably isn't sturdy enough for kids to play rough with.
• When the house is put together you can paint or decorate it.

Warnings

• Be careful when you cut the sticks. You could get a splinter.
• Always be careful when using a knife as you could cut yourself.
