Many women see a bra as a necessary evil - uncomfortable underwear that supports your breasts, but at the same time compresses them and causes itchiness. However, if you wear the right size bra and learn how best to wear it, you will feel better and your breasts will look their best. Do you want to know how to do this? Then follow the next steps.

To step

Method 1 of 2: Finding the right bra

  1. Find out if you are wearing the wrong size bra. It's unbelievable, but true: the majority of women are wearing the wrong size bras. You will notice whether you are one of those women by the ease with which you put on the garment. Some signs that you are wearing the wrong size bra are:
    • Your breasts bulge over the edges of the bra
    • The bra straps cut into your shoulders
    • The elastic of your bra cuts into the skin under your breasts
    • The bra feels so tight that it feels like you can't breathe
    • The bra is so loose that the straps constantly slide off your shoulders, no matter how often you adjust them
    • You can easily put two fingers between your ribs and your bra
  2. Don't be too stubborn. You may have thought for years that you have a size 85C, while the store shows that 80D is the right size for you. Do not immediately think that this is wrong, just try out whether a bra in this size actually fits better. If you still feel that it is not right, go to another store for a second opinion.
  3. Have your bra size measured about once a year. This will check if you are wearing the correct size. The size of your breasts can change for all kinds of reasons, whether this is because you are still growing or because you have lost or gained weight a lot.

Method 2 of 2: Put on a bra

  1. Put your arms through the armholes. To put on a regular bra, first put your arms through the armholes. Make sure the straps run back over your shoulders.
  2. Check if the bra is properly fitted. Once you have put on the bra and adjusted the shoulder straps, you can take a look in the mirror to see if the bra fits properly. Check if your breasts fit properly in the cups and if the straps are properly adjusted.
  3. Avoid bulging above the cups. You may notice a "muffin top" effect above the cups, making it look like your breasts are coming out of your bra. This is normal if you have just maneuvered your breasts into their cups. Therefore, now push your breasts slightly back into the cups so that the bulge disappears.

Tips

  • Practice with the back closure of your bra if you are already wearing it. You can just put this under your clothes.
  • Try a bra with a front closure. Make sure that the closure does not itch and does not cut into your skin.
  • Experiment with different types of closures: one is easier than the other! As a rule, closures are easier to fasten with fewer hooks, although they also open spontaneously more quickly.

Warnings

  • If you can take your bra off over your head without loosening it, you have the wrong size. Make sure you buy a bra that fits your body well and is not too wide. Only bras that fit well can support your breasts properly.
